“Nice experience”

Located in the middle of Copacabana beach, this hotel is a very nice place to be in Copacabana. The room look quite new and the view of the beach is awesome. The staff is kind and friendly. The breakfast is generous, with a vast variety of food. Liked it. Would come back.

We stayed November 01 and 02 weekend for pleasure vacation. Check-in was smooth and prompt, and room was ready and clean.

Cons:
- Found the breakfast buffet not as great as other hotels, but acceptable. The coffee offered was middle to weak strength. There is NO omelet station and the eggs were served cold on the platter needing to be microwaved upon request.
- The elevators require your room card insert a couple of times to allow you to go to your floor, and observed most all having repeated attempts to finally allow the GREEN to your floor. Was humor game to beat the elevator as it was rising.
- Bed comfort wise, found the king bed rather too firm, very hard. Not the normal comforts of most hotels.

Pros:
- Rooms were cleaned each day, no issues with hotel management.
- Security wise we felt safe. Used the in-room safe - no issues.
- Wifi is free in the lobby floor and top pool area. Room wifi there is a charge.
- Pool service at top is great, bartender takes care of you and thoughtful to bring drinks ordered prior.
- A/C was fine, and extra blankets are provided.
- Location is great, in the middle of many activities for Coca.

Summary:
I would consider staying here again for Copacabana. For those wanting to blend in more local scene, recommend to stay at down the beach to Ipanema and Leblond Beach. This is more of a location recommendation that quality issues at the hotel, with fantastic experiences in Ipanema.

We have just stayed for one week. As other reviewers have said, there is not a lot wrong with this hotel. Great location and roof terrace / bar. Staff all very helpful and sorted any issues immediately. Breakfast varied and plentiful. We had a few light meals at the roof bar and to be honest they were very average. Lots of restaurants within walking distance or a short taxi ride. Make sure you get a room overlooking the beach. Great views and to see all the people exercising from early morning makes you feel guilty for having that extra beer!

I would echo the comments already made about this hotel-the location is ideal and views are a particular highlight.
All the main attractions in Rio are either a walking distance or a short cab ride away.
In the vicinity of the hotel there are numerous restaurants with various different cuisines.

The room itself was very nice-cleaned daily, with a bigger than normal bed and a comfy matress. The room also had a mini bar which we used to store some drinks and snacks in.
Everyday the breakfast was different with ample amounts of choice to suit anybodies needs.

The swimming pool is indeed very small which is the only slight grumble one can have, although there is a big ocean on your doorstep if you prefer!

Overall this hotel is very highly reccommended and was a pleasure to visit.

Room Tip: We opted for a "superior room" which had the best views.

The best thing about this hotel is its location. Right on the strip of copacabana beach, from my room I woke up to a view of it every morning which was idyllic.
Looking out the window to the other side I could also see Christ the redeemer - which was very impressive.

There are plenty of restaurants within arms reach as either beach huts or slightly more formal settings.

For shopping the walk to ipanema took about 30-40 mins, and a taxi to rio sul shopping centre (worth a visit if cool or rainy ) took 10. The shops surrounding the hotel are not that great but there is a hippie market in ipanema and a market at the far end if avenue atlantica. The hippie market is much bigger and better if you want a market.

The room itself was very adequate for our needs. The view was the best but the bed was very large and comfortable enough. It was always clean.

The tv had three English channels.

The breakfast was varied and very fresh and tasty.

My only criticism would be the pool which is essentially a glorified bath! Very small so can't do much swimming in it, but the pool bar and views from the roof amazing.

Very much recommended.
