“Shocking...but managed to pull a rabbit out of the hat”
Reviewed 2 July 2014 via mobile

We stayed at Hotel Atlantico Praia. First impressions the staff were slow and only one person on duty with many people requiring help. Then our room wasn't ready for the time they specified. So we were a bit worked up....then there is the renovations...everyone is sitting in this thin alley called the foyer which is seperated from the dining room with what seems to be painted drywall planks.

They gave us a room which brings the horror movie "Hostel" to mind. Bathroom was old, wires are exposed at light switches, bedding had sigarette burns and are stained and internet reception is bad in the whole hotel except reception...where everyone is sitting.

Then we complained and said that this is definitely not 3 stars....so they gave us a new renovated room...it was like walking into another hotel. Everything is new and neat. Very nicely "modernised". I wasn't scared anymore that something would crawl out of the vent and drag us away during the night.

When booking here, definitely ask for a new room...not much of a view but that didn't bother us to much. Renovations are a bit noisy during day but once they are done this will be a perfect location for a nice holiday. You walk out the hotel's front door, cross the road and you are on the beach(currently fifa fan club shop).

Good location in front of the World Cup fun fest, beach football fields… but no luxurious at all. Besides all areas have dust. Rooms are clean. AC did not work well. Breakfast was good ! I would try to see if there is something cheaper ($400 for a double during the world cup) around.

Room Tip: Rooms facing front of the hotel are loud. The view is awesome though !

The hotel is good if you are looking for just a short stay for the night. The location is unbeatable in the copacabana beach. Since it was under renovation the rates are reasonable. However, the construction is a mess and there is quite a bit of a din. Breakfast was fine. As you step out the magnificent Copacabana beach beckons you.

The hotel is still under construction, a lot of noise and problems with the elevators. But a real nice Copacabana panorama view ( Deluxe room ) and mostly friendly staff. The breakfast is really good.

This hotel has no safety, higiene or confort conditions to host tourists while in construction and refurbishing. It is amazing that noise levels and disturbance are not made aware for guests tourists looking afterto be hosted in this hotel in Rio. Civil works begin at 8AM and lasts till 7 PM continuosly, with excessive noise levels and a lot of dust. Higiene is poor in commom areas such as WC, breakfast room etc. No snacks replacements and towels are provided and everything is charged including wi fi. Some rooms have a lot of molt and are unbreathble. It is necessary an immediate survey by safety and sanitary authorities to avoid potential major risks in a near future.

Copacabana – just sing the name and it says it all… This property is located right in the heart of all the wonderment of Carnival, along the sunny beach and throngs of party - goers..
Your window gives you a magnificent view of one of the most iconic beaches in the world… You may have to pinch yourself! And stepping outside your hotel offers you more restaurants and more bikini-clad bathers that you can enjoy in a lifetime!
The best thing about this hotel by far is the location… It's a nice older building with rooms that are surprisingly large… And a staff - and of course a doorman - that can direct you anywhere you like to go. If you like being in the heart of the action, then this is a great place to stay. Tudo Bem!

the hotel is reforming. large rooms. however television does not work well. internet and phine also not. whole structure too old and they are improving. But everybody is part of it. It's in front of the beach. You see people passing all the time working. Whole hotel stinks dirty and dust. If you want to relax, it's not the place.
