“Typical Brazilian imitation”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 January 2014

As with most things, this is a poor imitation of the sort of facility you find outside Brazil. First thing to consider is the closing time. It shuts at 17:00. We arrived after lunch to avoid the midday sun and almost went in. They would charge you R$140 to enter the park for 2 hours. Buy your ticket on Groupon and you can get for R$40 on a week day, even more for weekends. To park will cost you R$18, a locker will cost you R$30. Without a coupon you will spend R$600 on a family of 4 before you get your feet wet. They don't charge for a ring to ride the lazy river like some parks thankfully. The slides are OK, could use some shade while you queue and more water when you ride. Food is typical theme park stuff, overpriced and average. The real highlight was the wave pool.

“odd but fun”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 April 2013

We decided to try Rio Water Planet since my son loves waterparks. We don't speak Portuguese and were not able to read the website. We rented a car for the trip and had no trouble finding it from our hotel near Leblon. It was incredibly expensive for what it was. We paid 120 reais per person for admission (which included a t-shirt). Our 4 year old was free. Apparently you can get groupons for this for 40 reais. Our kid could officially only go on two of the water slides because of his height, although by the end of the day we stopped asking if he could go and just took him and nobody stopped us. You also have to buy parking passes, food passes and locked passes which cost another 100 reais, but most of this was returned if unused at the end of the day. A lot of the slides were closed and the ones open didn't seem to have quite enough water going down them and we kept getting stuck. Despite this we had a good attitude about it and had a great time. Our son had a fantastic time. Keep your expectations appropriate and just go for fun.

“Amazing, just go there to have fun!”

Don't go there expecting "Disney" or the american aquatic parks. It's just amazing for the brazilian reality. If you are looking for some fun and to escape from business life, go there!!!

“Waste of time and money”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 February 2012

Entrance is R$120 + R$30 for locker = 70euro!!! per person. Cannot bring any food or drink with you inside. I tried to buy couple of hot dogs and it took me 1 hour to get them. (Honestly andf literally) Staff is unhappy and unhelpful. They have nice tobogans though, but waiting time is again up to 1 hour on hot concrete. There is no swimmig pool and the deepest water is 1m., except area 10x10m crowded with hundred people. To cool down you have to use shower. Boring. Don't go.
