I stayed here for one night as I had a flight connection from Rio's international airport the following morning. It was the weekend so I got this hotel at a good price (I reckon much of the hotel's weekday customers are probably business people paying higher prices).
It's located in the Centro district and is only a two minute walk from the metro and about a 10 to 15 minute walk from the Santos Dumont (domestic) airport.
Rooms were good and the hotel itself seems brand new or at the very least it has been quite recently renovated. Breakfast was as good as I have had anywhere. The breakfast choice is almost endless. There are quite a few amenities in the hotel (sauna, pool, bars, viewing deck) but I used none of these due to my short stay.
Most visitors to Rio like to stay in the Zona Sul, where the famous beaches are, but if you also fancy a day or two in a downtown location this would be a good option. It's also a good choice if you need to overnight before a flight from either of the city's two airports. (from the nearby Santos Dumont airport you can catch the bus to the International airport)More
