for 25 real you could have an all you could eat option. meat from the grill was served fresh and there was lots of choice for the traveller. I only really eat chicken but found the choice great including, chicken fillets and sausages from the grill as well as stew, pastis, and stroganoff from the hot ( sometimes just warm) buffet.

we dined here twice while we were in Rio and staff were always very helpful to explain food or engage in conversation. I tried the Caipirinha here and was lovely - the waiter even showed me how to make one and the bottle I needed to buy! which was a bargain from a local supermarket!

Not the best food I have ever tasted but nevertheless, excellent value and a good range. Desserts not included but fresh fruit and baked banana fritters so enough to trick my stomach into thinking it was a pudding :)

I recommend a visit if in Rio and hungry like we were before or after a long haul flight.

good value , friendly staff ...not the best food in the world but a good choice for travellers as the restaurant is clean , well lit and has lots of choice with most dishes having a translation into English .
The price is similar to a price of a burger or pizza in other restauarants so if you want to eat well and on a budget this is a good place to visit.

My husband and i were walking around our hotel looking for a place to have lunch and we discovered this buffet that looked like a clean and professional business one street off the main Avenida Atlantica. And when we got there we were not disappointed. It turned out to be a buffet with two choices for price: all you can eat or by the pound to which we chose by the pound since we are not all u can eat type of folks. Great place, great food, lovely staff and prices the same as any major city. Keep in the mind that many places dont speak english but as long as the food is good who cares. We know basic pleasantries and parts of various language to get by.

Don't expect for having all attendants speaking english, but, despite of it, there are two ways of paying for your food:
PAY ATTENTION: if you get the yellow ticket at the restaurant's entrance, you will pay a reasonable price for what you call "all you can eat", excluding of course deserts, drinks etc.

OR, if you pick up the white ticket, you will get the same variety of food, but you will pay a rate for each 100 grs you eat (almost R$43 reais per one kilo).

But you can have pizzas also, if you want.

The food is good, but sometimes you will get it cold.

Anyway, for those that don't care about that, the restaurant is not bad, attendants are fine, the restaurant is simple, so you will not be out of bucket like others in the same neighborhood.

Mindful of other reviews we were very unsure. Nevertheless, on our trip to South America & stay In Rio de Janeiro instead of eating in at the Hotel we decided to eat out & subsequently on two different occasions we decided to eat at the local ‘Kilo’ Restaurant. Contrary to others we had a brilliant experience hence a further visit. On entering you are each given a piece of paper which lists all the different drinks you can have. The waiter ticks the boxes of the relevant drinks / wine you have. Additionally, this is a self-service restaurant so you just grab a plate & help yourself. On leaving the area you then have your plate weighed & the girl then stamps the weight of your meal on the slip of paper, this carries on until you have had enough. You then hand the slip of paper to the lady at the pay desk near the exit & pay accordingly. So basically you pay for what you eat & if you’re in a group it’s a much fairer way. Cost wise, well me & the missus had a salad starter, then a main meal & of course dessert all washed down with a bottle of white wine - £45 for the centre of Rio de Janeiro close to the Copacabana can’t be bad.
