Small hotel with a modern style.
The rooms are very small without a real closet. The restaurant is not a really restaurant and the breakfast is nothing of special ( it looks more like a "B&b breakfast" instead a" hotel" one).
Because of the daily rate , I find the hotel a little bit expensive for its service( no 4 stars but max 2), but it's perfect if you have to stay just one day and the day next you have to be at the airport for your next travel!

I choose this hotel because on a business trip in Rio with a private car and needed a garage, at arrival the check in was fine, room was apparently ok, I asked where the parking was, the lady at the desk showed me a tiny door, I, doubtfully, showed her my car (by all means not the biggest one around, but bigger than a VW beetle), she said that it should be ok, so I got the car and tried to park it into the garage.
The door of the parking was small, I guess around 2,1 meters, now my car is 1,95 wide so I fit in the door, problem is that the narrow corridor to get to the actual parking, gets smaller at the end, I would guess it' around 1.90 after 10-15 meters, smart. Not only that, they fitted lamps in the wall to make the task easier, long story short, I get stuck at the end of the "tunnel" and have to back out, I brake one of the stupid wall lights with my wheel arch but I managed to get out from that trap without any significant damage to the car, just a small scratch done by the lamp on a plastic protection.
I park on the street again, quite annoyed by the situation asked the receptionist to move me to a room that overviewed the street, the answer was a simple and quite rude no, like it was my fault to have a vehicle slightly bigger than the average Brazilian car, I comment that we choose that hotel because of the garage and if anything would have happened to the car during the night I would have held them responsible.
That's where the fun began, not only the quite obvious answer was that they would not take any responsibility, the communication was that they would evaluate the damage done to the lamp (a cheap plastic lamp, by the way, we are talking 5-10 R$ max) and add that to the bill! I dared them to do so and went to the room.
The fun continued there, A/C on I found myself in a vibrating loud nightmare, the A/C system was so noisy I couldn't hear my thoughts, looking around I found no hangers in the room, TV didn't work because unplugged and had a different socket than the one in the wall (no adapters available in the reception), the bed was so hard I would have slept better on the floor, and finally the day after breakfast was very average, and all that, for a whooping 500 R$ a night in low season, it's a robbery.
Hotels in Rio are usually bad, but this one takes my prize. They didn't charge for the lamp though, it must have felt low even for Rio.

We had an early flight from the international airport (GIG), so this was a decent option to save time in getting to the airport the next day.

It can be a little hard to find (our taxi driver didn't have a GPS, so he got a bit lost!) but if you find a driver who knows exactly where it is it should only cost around R$30 from the airport.

There was a problem with our room when we arrived, but the hotel helped out and resolved it quickly. The wifi is extremely fast (1mb+) and the room was nice enough.

This isn't a flashy, expensive hotel but if you're flying out early it's not a bad choice. If you have more time, head in to Lapa or Copacabana for the night to see Rio.

Room Tip: Try to find one away from the road, the view is ok but not worth paying extra for.

We chose to stay here because we were arriving late into Rio and were leaving for Paraty early in the morning. This hotel is 20 minutes from the airport, but Praia de Guanabara is not the greatest area - the sewage smell is just one discounting factor - and the hotel did nothing to separate you from the atmosphere. You're better off choosing someplace more expensive and farther away, even if it is just for the night.
