Great hostel to stay in Rio de Janeiro. It is in the central region, just minutes to Lapa where there are several bars for fun.
For the region of beaches is necessary to take subway or bus, but easy access.
The rooms and bathrooms are cleaned daily.
Highlighting the great staff, attentive to resolve their issues and initiate
Happy Hour! Feel at home in this hostel!

Once you climb the hill and the stairs and the ramps and the stairs, you are welcomed by a staff member offering you some water.
It's a very clean hostel. The dorms & bathrooms are cleaned daily. The sheets are fresh.
They have reliable wi-fi on the main floor! The common area is very comfortable. There's a bar and a pool table. The tables outside are a nice place to relax and eat breakfast. Their breakfast is delicious. Sometimes they even have cake!
The staff is phenomenal. They give you proper professional attention, unlike many places in Brazil, the staff at Bossa Rio Hostel are always available to help! They know alot about Rio! I loved staying there and I will go back!

I had good luck with hostels in Brazil (with one glaring exception) and Bossa In was one of the best. The location is great. Staying further from the beaches and Sugarloaf made me and my traveling companions do more exploring of the city itself rather than just hang out. Santa Teresa (uphill from the hostel) was a fantastic place to hang out in the evenings and is now one of my favourite neighborhoods on the planet.
The staff were great, the room was good (for a hostel) and the wifi works. The only issue I had was that we were initially recommended to eat in Lapa down the hill from the hostel, which we did for two nights before discovering Santa Teresa. We felt a bit like we wasted two good evenings in Lapa, which was a bit of a letdown.
Otherwise it was an amazing stay!

Bossa is a decent, affordable option in the Santa Teresa/Lapa area. I stayed with 4 of my friends in one of the 6 person rooms. The room was OK - the beds were comfortable and each one had its own power socket, light and curtain. The living room area was quite social and is a good place to meet other travellers. We found the staff to all be pleasant and easy to chat to, however when we asked about different activities we were told the hostel could make arrangements for us "the next day", but often these promises were not fulfilled. The location of the hostel is great for Santa Teresa/Lapa, although some may prefer to be located closer to Copacabana: do your research before making a decision. If you like a night out make sure you go to the hostel party at club Zero Zero.

This hostel is great and affordable. The rooms are very modern, clean and offer enough space for all occupants. The staff are great, hospitable and helpful! We stayed in a four bed dorm room, which was at the back of the building and had its own garden area with sun beds, which was lovely- a great way to relax after walking round Rio all day. The breakfast was lovely, a good selection and on certain nights of the week they offer cheap dinners that are delicious! Especially as Rio is quite an expensive city to eat out in. The hostel was set on a hill and the entrance is set away from the gated entrance, which makes you feel safe. It was just a lovely place to stay.

Great value for money!!!
Only con is thats its far from the beaches..
Rooms are clean and tidy, u even have a built in curtain on the bed, santa teresa is beautiful and it is really close to lappa and the city center.
but id rather take a bus to the beach than taxis to go out at night un santa teresa/lappa.... GO!
U wont regret it (:

Im a single female travelling south america. Arrived into Rio a few days before Carnival and this was my first Hostel experience on my own. Apart from the hill climbing every morning and night this hostel was and after 9 months travelling, is still one of my favourite hostels ive stayed in.
The wifi works in every room ( i was in a 4 dorm on the top floor) the staff were amazing, Paloma who would greet you every morning, John aka the legend on night shift and the others during the day. They know where to go, how to get there and who to see for whatever you want.
The laundry service is a bit steep and i would suggest just to pay as you go. The showers are a tight squeeze but still doable and they are cleaned daily.
But the location is brilliant if your looking to get amongst it and enjoy the culture and the people of Brazil.
In our dorm each bed had their own lamp and power points so we were all able to charge your electronics. Rooms were swept every day, lockers secured did not have one thing stolen. Security cameras which actually work! i thought i had left my phone on the table and they were able to rewind the footage and find that i actually took the phone back to my room! heaven sent!
The lounge area is cosy but i loved the breakfast and staff was brilliant.
Definetly where i will be staying for Carnival and Rio Olympics!!

Room Tip: the private rooms are on the bottom floor but there is a lot of foot traffic, if you go for the 4 ro...
