Menu with rich variety, we were a group of five and asked for five different dishes, all of them were very tasty, quality well above the average and generous in quantity. Drinks menu does not make justice to the food menu. Interesting deco, inside a Garden Center, good service, not difficult to find a parking spot. Prices a tick on the high side.

This is a restaurant located inside a greenhouse, which also happens to have a local art store.
I've been there several times, as it is one of my favorite places in Rio. The chef and all the people that work there are very nice. The chef even changed one of his dishes in order for by husband to be able to eat it, as he is allergic to seashells, and he did it no questions asked. Something you do not see often.

After eating there I love to walk around and see the all the plants, mainly the bonsais. They have quite a nice 'collection' some of them not for sale and priced up to $12,000.

A place worthwhile going when all the must of Rio have been visited. I would totally recommend it.

The restaurant is inside a Garden Center close to Barra da Tijuca, so it is not a place close to the most important attractions, but once you are around it worth! I ordered fish (Linguado ao Thermidor - rolled in Banana leaves with banana da terra purê). It was great!!! They have also good wines (a bit expensive). Inside the Garden Center there is also a handicraft shop with things from all over Brazil - very good quality - it is the best handicraft shop I know in Brazil. There are also very nice plants and flowers (good quality). The price in general is a high but you will get quality.

This is a wonderful place near "Barra da Tijuca" in Rio de Janeiro. Chacara Tropical is a garden nursery/artisanal crafts / restaurant ... all in one remarkable place. We ate lunch on a busy Sunday and it was wonderful.
Service is courteous and attentive, meals can take up a little too much time to be ready, but it is well worthy it the wait! Our party of 6 had many different items from the menu from the cod-trio to the lamb to the suckling piglet...delicious!
I am amazed that I am the first reviewer of such wonderful place...I guess the citizens of Rio prefer to keep their best secrets kept...ooops...too late: this place should be featured in the number 1 spot of best restaurants in Rio de Janeiro!
