We staying for two nights in this hotel after a bad experience in a more expensive resort. The room as nicely furnished and very clean, it also had an amazing view of Copacabana beach! Unlike a lot of the other hotels in the area, the room was actually very spacious. Breakfast was amazing. Big variety that included some of the American staples such as bacon, pancakes, and omelets. If your room does not have a view, a visit to the rooftop pool and bar area is a must for picture taking, the restaurant also has great views! I would go back in a heart beat.

Windsor is a recently renovated luxury hotel. I think its 5-star ranking is worthed, as most of the hotel is built in marble, and other luxury products. The staff is very friendly, both in reception and restaurant, breakfast is supreme, dinner the same and the rooftop swimming pool is absolutely great, I truly recomend to be there at the sunset hour, as the water is warm! The location is perfect, with lots of restaurants next to it. The beach is right the other side of the street and the view, ok, the view is the very best of this hotel. I stayed in an Executive Room wich featured a side view, but I think this view is best than the sea-front view of the Suites. Although the rooms are a little smaller than you expect from a 5-star, the high price is well worthed!

If you want a great location in Rio this should be one of your choices. A clean, big, full service hotel. Lots of visitors in the elevators, restaurant for breakfast, and around the property. Was there for business. Location right across the street from the Copacabana beach. Nice for walking along the promenade and watching the people of Rio.

Room Tip: Get a view of the water.

If you are visiting Rio and want to find a hotel close to Copacabana, Windsor Atlantica is one of the places you can stay in. The place is located just in front of the beach and you can walk across the road to get to the beach. In summer time like this, it is very convenient to stay in location like that. You don't want to spend much time on the road just to go to the beach.

I have been in the hotel three times and I always found the hotel to be very comfortable and luxurious. This hotel looks a little old, but on the other side all of the equipment and things in the room are nice and looks quite modern. The first two times of my visit I was fortunate to get a room overlooking Copacabana.

The staff are nice. Many of them speak English, eventhough some time you meet somebody who does not speak English well. On the weak side, I think the hotel shall improve the receptionist staff who handles the phone calls. I called the hotel several times from Indonesia to inquire about my reservation, and it was always hard to find somebody who could speak English. I had to be bumped to up to four people before at the end somebody talk to me in good English... and recommend me to send them an email instead (I knew I could do that, but I needed a quick answer).

Anyway, overall I recommend this hotel. It's on the expensive side though, so I would have not stay there if it was not for business.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking Copacabana

Rooms are average. Old fashion interior decoration. Bed is comfortable.
Bathroom is small and the renovation wash not done properly (painting peeling out of some walls, etc..).
View is unbeatable if you get the rooms facing the beach.
Location is very good and room service is average.

Ofcourse one cant do much better on the location, bam smack in the middle of the Copacabana with most rooms offering a nice view of beach and ocean. You walk out the door, cross the street and step onto the big beach into a soccer or beachvolley match, or dive into the refreshimg ocean as I did. The neighbourhood offers some local restaurants although you wanna be careful at nite strolling on the streets. The rooms are well fitted, although you shouldnt expect good interior design. It is a bit sterile perhaps. The same can be said for restaurant, reception and even the pooldeck. Service is friendly and professional. A real dissapointment was the recently opened italian restaurant Alloro. The staff tried there superbest, but the food was nothing special and at those prices it should be.
All in all, a good hotel with high service level but lacking the personal touch and warmth.

This is a good but expensive hotel right on the Copacabana Beach, not quire a five star but a worthy 4 star, fair size rooms with comfortable beds.
Good buffet breakfast which is served in two restaurants when busy.
Easy access to the beach and promenade, many restaurants within walking distance.
Reception area was always busy with no obvious concierge, which made finding out about the local area difficult.
There are probably better hotels locally for the same money, but we stayed during a busy holiday period and there were not that many hotels for us to choose from.

Room Tip: Get a room as high as possible with a beach view.
