Sadly, I only spent two nights at the Caesar Park and didn't get enough time to savor the view from my window, but watching the sun rise over the South Atlantic was spectacular. The hotel staff was helpful and professional, the room was comfortable and clean, and the room service was quite good, especially the breakfast, which was a plate full of luscious tropical fruit. My Brazilian colleagues recommended this as the best (and safest) place to stay in Rio de Janeiro and I agree with their assessment -- when I am in Rio next, I will stay here again.

Caesar Park had never been at the top of my list of Rio hotels, but my recent stay has changed my mind. While the location is first rate, it has the atmosphere of a business, rather than a resort hotel. That being said, it is due to an excellent staff, most particularly Rodrigo at the front desk, and Celia at concierge that guests are made to truly feel like GUESTS, not just customers to be handled. Because of the warm hospitality of a truly professional staff, Caesar Park Ipanema is now at the top of my list of Rio hotels.

The hotel does have a good location…but a good location only goes so far… the overall experience has not been good and I’m trying to put this softly . Upon requesting an upgrade because I’m paying with American Express Platinum, they said they never honor that. Upon entering the room, the view looked out upon air conditioning units on the adjacent building with a tiny, tiny side view of the beach if you walked up to the window and from the corner of the window you can see the beach…

I never had hot water ~ tepid, at best…I HATE that! The towels are thread-bare…..The room temperature is what they want it to be…you can move the dials but nothing happens except what they want to happen. We booked a massage and the spa changing room was about 10x10 and I almost had to turn sideways to change clothes between the lockers…it was a total joke complete with plastic chairs in the tiny waiting area that looked out onto a pretty good view if you could have seen through the fifthly windows that must have never been cleaned since the building was built. The entire place was fifthly from top to bottom. The carpet in our room was badly stained, the spa was horribly fifthly.

The charges are unbelievable from $25USD to use the internet and $100USD for breakfast for 2. The only redeeming quality has been the people…except for registration…really wonderful, helpful and very nice. I have never paid so much for so little! And if you have forgotten…$440 per night USD

This was truly a disappointment.

Dear Mrs. Linda,

I thank you for having chosen Caesar Park Ipanema and also for sending your comments to us at the end of your stay.

It is with concern that I receive your remarks and acknowledge that Caesar Park Ipanema has not attended your demands.

Regret the inconvenience concerning the service at Reception Desk and Spa. Our entire team is taking an immediate action to improve it, in order to prevent this from happening again and truthfully express our deepest apologies.
Concerning the American Express Platinum card, we would like to inform that the Caesar Park Hotel is no longer affiliated to it.

Also, will much appreciate the opportunity to discuss your experience further, and verify the air conditioning system of the room you had. Please contact me directly here at general manager's department though assistgg.cprj@caesar-park.com.

I do hope that we are able to restore your faith in our hotel and hope that you will allow us the opportunity to redeem ourselves in your next visit to Rio de Janeiro.

Looking foward to hearing from you,

Maurizio Romani

You can walk out your front door and be body surfing on Ipanema beach within seconds. The rooms are decent and equivalent to a US 3 star hotel. Watch for WiFi charges (R40/day).

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a beach view. Many beach view rooms are from side of hotel.

The hotel is fine, rooms good and very short walk to some great restaurants behind it. Hotel is expensive but it is a stunning beach and a geographically beautiful city.

We stayed at Caesar Park for 5 nights. The hotel is nice, good location, easy walking distance to restaurants and shops. The Impanema beach is right across the street, and is all that is hyped to be. The pool on the rooftop is small, but that seems to be the norm in Rio, which is very beach orientated. However the set up is a little weird as you need to go through the breakfast area to access the pool, and in the morning the pool area is utilized as a dining area.
Breakfast was included in the room, after a "discussion" with the front desk. It was clearly stated on our reservations that breakfast was included, but the front desk tried to skip that part when checking us in. The buffet was very good, nice selection and varied choices.
The lobby is impressive, the gym and its showering facilities need remodelling.
The rooms... ah the rooms. Given the price paid for a room, I expected a lot more.
To me the rooms were on par with a Hilton Garden Inn, though the cleanliness was not.
The bathroom was not "immaculate" and the roach I found and killed (and you know there is never just ONE....) was yucky. The enclosed shower constantly leaked out into the bathroom, and since for some bizarre reason the marble floor tilted towards the door which meant that unless you used the towels to block the flood, the carpet in the bedroom was soaked. The housekeeping staff needs better training. They do a turndown service and late tidy up, which is nice, but one evening before going for dinner, I had left out a map and invites to a gallery. I'd been trying to plan our next days adventures. I didn't realize until the next morning that the maid had removed all the paper items from the desk and disposed of them. We were not able to go to the gallery, and we had received a free offer which was lost. I've read complaints of dirty bedding, old decor, our room was fresh and bright. We had a side view of the Impanema looking towards the fort and it was bright and quiet (except for Friday and Saturday night... but it wasn't annoyingly loud).
I was travelling with my 13 year old son, and had been told that he would receive a treat nightly. Truffles, fruit, cookies, well, that only happened once.
One benefit of this hotel is that ALL the cab drivers know it, so you just have to say the
name and you'll get there, the downside of that is, this is a 5 star hotel in Rio, so watch what the driver charges. Three times, the driver attempted to overcharge us on the ride.
Make sure you are in a metered cab, and the meter is running. Watch the meter, and see what the cost is when you get close to the hotel, one driver cleared the meter while pulling up in front of the hotel, and tried to double the fee.
Basically, this is a decent, relatively clean hotel. Way overpriced for what you recieve, but for Rio that is the norm.

Stayed here on a business trip due to the location in Ipanema on the beach. Front desk service lacked warmth, and was infused with some old soviet style "these are the rules". Public spaces in the lobby area are not bad. Rooms seriously lacking- think 1970's Holiday Inn with an attempt to put granite on the bathroom counters. Musty smell. Restaurant lacking in much choice. Pretty poor value for $450 per night.
