We decided to end our two week travels in Brazil in a luxury hotel in Rio – just something a bit more special - Marina All Suites was perfect for this! Our room was enormous and beautiful – more like an apartment! The little quiet pool area on the top floor is so cool and what a view you have from up there! Breakfast was excellent – a nice setting with a beach view and loads of fresh fruits, great coffee and everything else you can think of having for breakfast! The location can’t be beaten – it is right on the beach (and there aren’t that many hotels in Ipanema/Leblon that are right on the beach) and so close to numerous trendy bars and restaurants. Earlier on in our trip, we also stayed in the Promenade Palladium hotel just round the corner from Marina All Suites – also a very nice hotel with everything you need and excellent value for money (for Rio), but if you want that extra bit of luxury and don’t mind paying more - Marina All Suites is the place to go!

I traveled to Rio for the first time in December 2010. As a female traveling solo, safety was a number one concern for me, especially given the recent negative news reports about gangs in Rio. Based on my research, Leblon seemed like a safe neighborhood to stay in, and Marina All Suites a nice hotel choice in Leblon. This proved to be a good choice.

I booked the Deluxe Suite through hotels.com. The suite was very comfortable. The air conditioning in both the living room and bedroom was great. It got nice and cold, which was wonderful considering how hot it was outside. The air conditioner was a little noisy, but for me it was white noise. It helped drown out noise from the street when I was trying to sleep. The living room area is tiled and has a flat screen tv and dvd player. The sofa was firm. The bedroom has its own flat screen tv. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was just okay. Honestly, the suite could use some renovation. This is the only big gripe I had about the hotel. For the price I paid, I was expecting something a little more plush and up-to-date. The views from the suite were great. I was on the 15th floor, so from the living room I got a great view of Leblon Beach stretching towards Ipanema. From the bedroom, I could see some apartment blocks, with Corcovado and the Christ statue in the background. The internet connection in the room was strong. The hotel has a few English language channels. The hotel provides guests with beach towels, chairs, and umbrellas at no charge on Leblon beach.

I had complementary breakfast all three mornings I was there. It was very good. It was a spread of breads, meats, fruits, and juices, with eggs made to order. The coffee was excellent. There is a nice view of the beach from the dining room.

The staff was helpful. Most staff members speak some English. The front desk speaks English fluently. The staff is very helpful in hailing cabs and explaining to the drivers in Portuguese what you need.

The hotel is right on Leblon beach. The beach is beautiful, with Morro Dois Irmaos looming in the background. I preferred Leblon to Ipanema, as the sands were cleaner and the beach more serene. The hotel is very close to the Shopping Leblon mall, and the Ipanema shopping district is within walking distance. I felt very safe in Leblon. There are police officers, including military police, stationed throughout Leblon, day and night.

All in all, I had a pleasant stay at Marina All Suites. The hotel is in a safe neighborhood. While the rooms could use an upgrade, they are still very comfortable. The staff is fluent in English. I’d recommend this hotel to any first time traveler to Rio. I’ll definitely consider staying here again if I return to Rio.

I have stayed in pretty much all the decent Rio hotels and in general they are all bad value !Rio is such an amazing city that you can't think about the hotel too hard...Rio is about so much more than your hotel room or the speed with which they bring you an iron !
All suites I will come back to. the lobby is naff and looks like one those houses that get done up for £50 by linda barker but the staff are great ..I recognise them from the Copawhere Estefania and co worked before. they are sweet helpful friendly cariocas who try their best for you. The food is fine and breakfast nice. the restaurant makes good cocktails and has a super view of leblon beach. You get a MUCH MUCH bigger room than in the Fasano or Copa for the same price. patricia the masseuse is very good and reasonably proced. The gym is fine for a quick workout and there is a pool and a beach service. all in all i think it is a good deal but it's real winning ticket is its location...5 minutes and you are where it's worth being Dias de Ferreira...Zuka, Quadrucci,Sushi Leblon and then there is Juice co, astori and bars Jobi and Belmonte...very safe to stagger around after a few delicious Choppes.....fresh dry beer. The beach at leblon is great and chilled. there is traffic and noise but have a caipirinha and chill...leblon is great ...think notting hill or the village ...

Amazing clean, nice service, best location in Rio! They have upgraded us three levels, they gave us champagne every night.

It is located in Leblon, wich is simply the best area of Rio: calm, secure, good restaurants, best shopping.

It is not cheap, but good value.

This hotel is not 5 stars, even it has called a 5 stars hotel. It is a very small hotel and the service is so so. The only good about this hotel is the sea view and big rooms. But the bath room is small and the decor of the suite is basic. The price for the suite is too expensive , I have paid US$ 1,500.00 per night.

Marina all suites is okay but not worth the money. It seems like Rio is still behind the curve as far as international standards go, however they are bold enough to charge international rates! The staff at this hotel are perhaps its best feature. They are all very friendly. The building is old and drab. I held my breath when we walked in. The reception is barely a reception. Always crowded and general chaos. Elevators never work, constantly get stuck and one had to wait forever in hot humid un air conditioned passage ways. The rooms are okay, clean white. You have to pay for wireless which in todays world is ridiculous. The pool area is big enough for exactly 4 people and the gym is terrible. Its tiny and has no equipment that one needs to sufficiently work out. For $500+ per night this is not value for money at $250 I would have been satisfied.

This was our second hotel on this trip in Rio (our first hotel was the highly rated, but not as good, Porto Bay in Copacabana). We loved Marina All-Suites!

The location is fabulous - very nice beach, safe, pleasant neighborhood with fun restaurants (we felt safe around at all hours), close to shopping, etc. Every room is a suite, of course, which means room to spread out, bring in some groceries, dry clothes wet from the beach. And every room has a view of the beach in one direction and Corcovado in the other. There was some construction going on in the front of the hotel, but that was just not an issue.

Staff was very helpful and on the whole very friendly (I say "on the whole" because one staff member was professionally pleasant, but not effusively warm - no big deal). Breakfast was very good (not "amazing" but good, solid, delicious way to start the day).

Nice business center and lounge - free printing with an amazing beach view thrown in - how good can it get?

We looked at several other hotels, both on TA and also stopping to see them, and from what we saw, this is our #1 choice in Rio. We would absolutely return if/when we come back to Rio.
