Owner description: The Plataforma Samba Show represents the rhythmic and colorful dances of Brazilian folklore, often featuring the prior year's Carnival winning Samba school dancers. There is the option to have dinner before the show, but the real attraction is the Samba dance performances.

We went with a tour of around 35 people in January 2014.

We had the (almost compulsory) photo taken of ourselves with a few of the show's performers (20RL).

We sat on wooden seats at wooden tables. The 2 hour show gave us a snapshot of Samba dancing - in different eras both in the past and current. There was certainly a variety which included solo routines, drummers and both men and women performed. The men were amazing with their strength and acrobatic skills.
The ladies colourful and exquisite costumes were absolutely spectacular - especially the finale.

Mind you, upon drinking my second lethal Caipirinha cocktail, I could barely keep my eyes open for the whole show but what I did see was pretty spectacular.

This is the standard samba palace that all the tour guides will send you to, and that all the tour groups go to. It seems like it's been around a hundred years, although of course it's more like only (!!) fifty years. It is very reminiscent of a similarly old place in Havana, Cuba, called La Tropicana. Only Tropicana has managed to retain its incredible charm all these years (probably because it's the only game in town of that nature in Havana), while this has not. The show, nonetheless, was pretty amazing, particularly some of the acrobatics and the individual singers and performers. I have no regrets about going . . . once.

We arrived at 8:45pm from cruise ship we sat on wooden school chairs and for 1 1/2 hours 2 dancers visited every guest to take their photo with you then during the show which starts at 10:00 they try selling the photo on cheap plastic ash tray type things.
Paid $149 dollars and 1 drink included.
Show was average when it started, defiantly not on my go again list.
The bathrooms are ancient and smelly.

We enjoyed the show and the local entertainment, especially the acrobats. The facility is quite dated and in dire need of some sprucing up. We were fortunate to go on a night where it wasn't too crowded. I believe it's worth seeing to get a feel of the carnival atmosphere but I was put off by the condition of the facility.

The show is a great disappointment. The hall is poorly decorated you sit on plastic covered chairs with tacky tables. The costumes are falling apart. There was little dancing just gyrating.
There were a couple of good acts but not worth the money. There was a very short samba dance. If you want to see samba go to a samba school.
