This hotel is located in Copacabana area, opposite to sea beach. This is next to hotel Windsor. The Monument /statue of Pricess Isabel is just opposite to he hotel.Hotel has a very good /spacious lobby. The conceirge is always willing to assist and guide you.Front desk (morning) is also helpful.Checkin process is was smooth. One has to be careful with persons who approach you with an offer to help to find Indian restaurants very close to hotel. There donot appear to be any Indian restaurant around.Though the people around cautioned us to be careful with strangers and not go alone in the night,we didnot face any such problems.we are very comfortable.Rooms are very clean and reasonably bigger in size.My room was facing sea.Like any other many hotels in the country of Brazil, this hotel also does not equip with coffee maker.Surprisingly, the Restaurant in this hotel does not offer Lunch and Dinner facility. This offers only complimentary breakfast from 06.00 to 11.00 am.Anything that is ordered outside this offer is chargeable. The restaurant is very big/spacious.Very comfortable. The staff are polite and courteous.House keeping is helpful. The hotel location is very good. This hotel helps to explore the entertaining hubs around the same area..We were given late check out till 2.00 pm,but we didnot avail till such time. But the hotel has taken care of our Baggage till 8.00 pm.We had a comfortable stay in this hotel.

Room Tip: prefer sea facing room.

One of the best option to stay in Rio but if you don't need a seaview. A/C was silent and widnows were soundproof (rare combination in Brazil). Free wifi in the room and very good breakfast, better, than in some 5* Copacabana hotels. Free parking. Highly recommend this place. Room tip: take one view balcony facing on the backyard or side-street, main street is very noisy.

We were there for a few nights in November 2013 and got an air-conditioned room at the first floor, with a small balcony just above the hotel entrance. The room was large and clean, with a very spacious and comfortable bed - not too soft, just right. However, the bathroom was a different story - although clean, it didn't look as if it were ever refurbished - since the hotel opened - and was rather damp.
Besides its very good location - just near the Copacabana beach - the hotel is close to bus stations, a small supermarket and even a small shopping mall is about a 15-minutes walk away.
Breakfast was great - a lot of fresh fruit, juice, cereals, pastry, local dishes (which you should absolutely try) and more familiar items from the cheese-meat-eggs category. Coffee might seem a bit watery if you are an espresso & co. drinker.
The staff was nice and helpful - their English was just fine for basic conversation.

Room Tip: A room on an upper floor might be quieter

We stayed for 3 nights and could not have been happier. The hotel service all around was spectacular. Everyone was very friendly and ready to help when needed. The breakfast spread was incredible. Wonderful fresh fruits, pastries, juices, and lots more. One of the best features of the hotel is the close proximity to the beach. You basically walk out the door, cross the street and you are there. It was wonderful to be able to walk anywhere we wanted and still be close to the hotel. It was a great stay and I would absolutely go back!

+
location - few minutes' walk from Copacabana beach
breakfast buffet very good and friendly staff there
decent size room / bathroom
friendly reception staff / bellhop / security guard

-
safety deposit box in room didn't work
a/c in our room v temperamental
booked double room and when given twin room and told this would be sorted promptly by bellhop, we hung around in the room for service staff to attend, asked at reception who verified it would be sorted while we went for dinner, asked again the following morning and had maid service that day and still never got sorted, staying for 4 nights

We had travelled around a fair few places on a trip in South America last summer, and had spent most in Rio as had been told crime was a bigger concern here so felt we didn't mind paying more for security / safety - concerned that basics such as safe deposit box, a/c and supplying a double bed for a couple, could not be provided even when brought to staff attention, and despite their friendliness was disappointed by this. I think if paying European prices or beyond, this should be expected as part of the service.

Also a little further out of the hustle & bustle area of Rio, which we didn't mind at all but worth mentioning as some people may like / dislike that aspect.

We took a long time to chose this hotel using tripadvisor reports, they proved to be accurate in that, great position, great breakfast, slightly aging hotel but the best choice if you are on a more limited budget. Friendly, helpful staff giving practical and useful advice. Really enjoyed our Rio carnaval stay at this hotel

I really liked to stay at this hote. Great location, fair price, very good breakfast buffet. All the employees were very helpful and nice, always smiling. The rooms are clean and very spacious, but could use an update on the closed and bathroom. The only downside, in my view, are the beddings and curtains. The bedspread looks very old and the blaket was also old, it itched a bit.
When I checked out, I made sure to tell the front desk staff about this minor downside, and they passed my suggestion to the managment team right away. I will come back!

Room Tip: Twin beds are narrow.
