Owner description: This is the first hill up on the way to Rio's famous Sugar Loaf. It offers it's own marvelous view from the top (215 meters) but its base is also a good place for hiking.

“Halfway to the Pao de Acucar”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 April 2014

The Morro da Urca is is the hill right next to the Pao de Acucar (Sugarloaf Mountain). The cablecar to the top of the Sugarloaf stops there first, and the views there give you a taste of what's to come. Instead of taking the cablecar though, you can hike up the side and enjoy the same amazing views for free, as well as enjoying some healthy exercise. Be warned that if you hike up you won't be able to take the cable car from Urca up to the Sugarloaf or back down, unless you've bought the full-price ticket at the bottom.

“Must do! safe and what a view!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 April 2014

This is the Sugarloaf mountain cable car.
It is good to go up top first then come down slowly to skip the crowed.
It is worth taking the walk in the Atlantic Forest. The views were amazing! It is also very safe to go.

“Amazing view”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 March 2014

The view from the mountain is just amazing, don't miss this while in Rio. Follow the path on the back at the top to find some "hidden" places to get away from all the tourists.

Place where you have to go to, beautiful view over the city of Rio. I thought the view from Christo would be good but this ones is better.

“Very Very nice”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 March 2014

Although Pão de Açúcar has a better view, Morro da Urca has more to explore. You can even see some little monkeys. A little expensive if you want to use the "bonde"
