“Bad reception”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 August 2014

Unfortunately we were not able to have dinner at Braz on Sunday.
The receptionist wrote our name down on a list, and though there were many vacant tables, he asked us to wait till someone could escort to one of them.
While we were waiting, several other families got in and took the vacant tables. When we complained to the manager, he said we would have to wait till he could put 2 tables together because we were a party of 6. Had he done that when we arrived, and the order of arrivals would have been followed. The manager was rude, took no responsibility for the miscommunication with the receptionist and we left to another pizza place nearby. Terribly frustrating!

“High standard pizza in an excellent ambient!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 July 2014

This place serve pizza baked in a traditional (big) wood operated oven, this leaves the pizza and specially the crust with this delicious flavor of smoke.
All the pizzas are high standard. I liked the Braz and the Fungi flavors, which in my opinion where executed perfectly.
The buffalo mozzarella is brilliant, so whatever comes with it is a must try.
For starters we took the Pique Nique Calabresa which is a type Calzone but less filling.

The place is very nice and clean, bathrooms has a little porch/patio/garden which i found lovely and made me feel like I should have a cigar to smoke :)
The service was good and attentive, waiters serve the slices of pizza to your plate and rest the try aside.
The wine selection is not huge but reasonable priced.

My recommendation are:
1. For dinner come early - before 21:00 or you will wait for a long time! (No reservations allowed)
2. Ask to sit in the back patio which is much more romantic and cozy.
3. Try the Fungi and Braz Pizza.
4. The Mozzarella buffalo!
5. Visit the bathrooms :)

Do not recommend the Italian Sangria which was not good at all (water downed, no flavor, smelled)

I would defiantly come back!

*Hope this has been helpful.

“Best pizza and great restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 July 2014

Picked up pizza to go without even knowing what a great restaurant this is! Looks just like a typical Italian trattoria - will definitely go back to eat in.

“Excellent Vibe, Excellent Pizza”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 June 2014

If you feel the need for some great pizza in an environment that is consistently upbeat and high energy, you probably can't do better than Bráz Pizzaria. To me, it is the combination of outstanding service with consistently perfect wood-fired pizza that make this our "go to" place when we are in need of a pizza fix.

When my wife and I go, we share the salada bráz: plenty big for two people, and, I need to add that buffalo mozarilla really excellent. We have had the Pão Calabresa, and it is really good, but it's kind of like having pizza for an appetizer and then having more pizza for the main course. For our pizza, we always split a medium size pizza: she likes the Pizza Bráz, and I adore the Basilíca. The Pizza Bráz has a combination of healthy things on it, and the Basilíca has pesto and cherry tomatoes. The restaurant is happy to make the pizza half and half, and the accompanying condiments include regular, spicy, and garlic-infused olive oil. Does life get any better?

While the restaurant does have English-language menus, I think it is much more fun to do your homework with the menu before going (it's online) and work with the Portugese-language menu at the restaurant. I haven't seen any waiters there who speak English, but they are so darn friendly that it has never mattered. Of course, as my Portuguese has improved, so has the quality of our dining experiences.

One final point: Bráz Pizzaria is only open in the evenings. Like most restaurants in Rio, it will be pretty empty at 7:00 and pretty full by 9:00. Enjoy!
