“Great views- Excellent stay”
Reviewed 23 December 2010

We stayed here for 1 week during our trip to Wyoming during December 2010..we selected this place from our online searches..
We stayed in couples cabins and the cabin was beautiful, main thing it was clean.better than any upscale hotel chains we have stayed in..
The decor was very nice..and cosy
this place probably is busier during summer than winter..which didnt bother us..

Suggestions:
- Maybe a small TV in the bedroom would be great in couples cabin..
- Wireless internet could be improved..sounds like streaming media was pretty much blocked..we couldnt stream more than 2 mins of media..

Overall a great place to stay, we are thinking of visiting Wyoming in summer to see the difference between summer and winter..maybe stay here...

We stayed here a few days just a week ago and had a great time. The log couples cabin, built by the owners, was very nice and comfy...except the sofa which will be upgraded soon according to Rob. He's also a fishing, hunting, trail ride and snowmobile guide. I went fishing with Rob and he taught me the rudiments of fly fishing on the Salt River which runs through the ranch. I caught cutthroat and white fish pretty steady all day and lost a whopper trout that was foul hooked. I was a bit early for the Brown Trout run which must be mass fun. Hope to fly in for that next year. The access to the Grand Tetons and Jackson is about 40 minutes and follows the Snake River. The morning drives were spectacular as we hit an unusual warm, sunny stretch of incredible fall weather. You can't go wrong, stay here!

My husband and I visited Rockin M Ranch on the off-chance that we could go horseback riding on our last day in Wyoming. Fortunately, arrangements were made for an evening ride with Rob. As this was the first horseback ride for my husband, the owners took extra care in selecting a special horse for him. Over the 2-hour ride, we saw elk and heard them calling to each other. We also walked the horses through the Salt River at the end of the ride. It was perfect and will always hold special memories for us. The owners were extremely welcoming and professional in every way. Thank you Rob for an amazing and fun evening!

I don't know about what happened with the one negative rating but having met the Jamie, the owner, her husband and her staff it musta been something to get them as riled up as the complainer says. All I can vouch for is the place is in great shape and the folks really put themselves out to make sure you have a good time.

My wife and daughter also took a ride out of the Rockin' M for a four hour trip up into the mountains and had a fantastic ride. The horses were well trained and conditioned, good quality tack and a great guide! Highly recommend them over the Flying Saddle resort which we left - rude manager there and poor service.

My family went to stay at the ranch over the Thanksgiving break. We are from a nearby city in Idaho and heard of the ranch through a local radio station. It was close and within our price range. We and some friends booked a cabin for 8 and after cutting Christmas trees,we went to stay at the ranch. The owners Jamie and Rob were very nice and hospitable. It was like we were there personal guests. The cabins were so clean. If I didn't know better I would have thought that we were the first ones to stay in the cabins. I can't wait to go back !! We are planning the next trip as we speak ! They have 2 hot tubs on the property and we sat in them that first night under the stars. I wish I could stay there forever! If you need to get away for awhile and you want a slower pace for a couple days please go to the ranch and relax. Next time we are going to go to Jackson Hole and see the sights since it is not that far away. We really want Rob to take us fishing. We saw some amazing pictures and we just can't wait.

We booked a cabin for 8 people for 9 nights-two moms and 6 young, teenaged girls. One girl had the female malaise so she moved to a sleeping bag on the floor, which was prohibited. I thought it was a small sin and deserved a reprimand and a plea for cooperation, and that it was included in the literature as a caution against exceeding the max per person limit.

The 2nd night the female co-owner barged thru the door at 10 p.m. (although she had a contact no. for us for the daytime), demanded to know how many people were there; screamed at us in front of the children; refused to go onto the porch to talk to the adults; physically pushed one of the adults back into the room; and screeched about "Who pays the maid to clean around a sleeping bag on the floor." She felt it wears out the carpet. She told us to leave, left herself, then burst thru the door again, perched herself on a bar stool and glared at us all while we gathered our things. She was so threatening and unhinged that we called the police! It was a tourist's nightmare. This woman is in the wrong business. If you are in Alpine for an adventure sport that may entail a speck of mud, or just for peace and quiet, don't count on staying here.

This is the first bad review we have seen of our business. I do not feel it professional to go into detail of "our side of the story", but I would be happy to discuss it over the phone if this review were to detour you from staying at the Rockin M Ranch. As we mention on our website we are not a corporate owned large hotel chain but, a family owned business of which we have poured our heart and souls into. The benefits of this to our guest is an exceptional product, cleanliness, location, and local knowledge of the area. On the flip side we have to maintain strict policies to preserve the quality and future of our business (including occupancy). There is not another comparable business in the area that has what we have to offer. We have many e-mails complimenting our establishment and commending us for our policys. Give us a call. We are very nice to nice people!!!
