“Regional food, high standard”
Reviewed 2 January 2013

Bah has the best of Rio Grande do Sul tradicional food, but with contemporary dressing. Refined service, sophisticated ambience and excelent food. However, it is expensive.

“Traditional gaucho food - and it's not barbecue!”
Reviewed 26 December 2012

Porto Alegre, the capital of the Brazilian gaucho land, is famous for its barbecue. All Brazilian steakhouses around the world try to reproduce the ambience of Porto Alegre traditional restaurants (take a look in any of them, like Fogo de Chão - waiters are always dressed as gauchos). However, there are several cuisines been served nowadays in Porto Alegre. For instance, you can have Hawaiian, Thai, German, French, Swiss, Italian, Mexican, Chinese, Japanese, Greek, Indian or Portuguese food when visiting the city. But there are really few places serving the traditional gaucho food. Believe me, there is more than barbecue here. Gaucho food is quite simple, and of course its based on meat - stewed, roasted, grilled or sun-dried (here it's called charque). The Italian and German inheritance, besides the Argentinian and Uruguayan neighborhood, made it unique. Bah is a contemporary gaucho food restaurant conveniently located at the Barra Shopping Sul, in front of the Guaíba River (ask for a table upstairs to have dinner admiring the beautiful sunset). The restaurant itself is modern - it seems like a big loft made of glass and concrete, but the comfortable leather chairs at the same time that heat the salon, bring a scent from the gaucho farms. As appetizer I should recommend a kuchen bruschetta. Later, you can order some tortei stuffed with pumpkin and sun-dried meat, lasagna made of polenta and slow-braised ribs, or maybe a hearty minced beef with a green-looking erva-mate farofa (delicious!) - they are all excellent. Don't forget the best ending for your meal: the indulgent dulce de leche millefeuille. The last advice: if the staff is welcoming and affable, the prices are not (especially the wines).

“Love the environment...”
Reviewed 14 September 2012

My husband and I really like the environment and he loves the lamb but as someone that does not eat read meat or sea food, the options are limited. It would be nice if they had a chicken breast plate. The two pasta dishes they do offer are not that great and the sauce is quite bland. The covert is good, I always try to fill up on that.

“Gaúcho "Fusion" Cuisine”
Reviewed 20 July 2012

Maybe the best restaurant in town. Great service, food and environment, despite inside a huge Shopping Mall. Huge bill too, as Brazil is getting more expensive than Europe...

“too expensive”
Reviewed 27 June 2012

well located - just the first restaurant the main entrance of Barra Shopping ( Cristal area ) - it proposes to offer tipycal gaucho food. instead, it is a excessive tourist focused restaurant and the prices are a bit too high for what offers
