Agree largely with previous review. Other than location this hotel has very little going for it. Extremely noisy. Impossible to get any sleep at night given the street noise. Wifi useless, breakfast average at best and really really old worn out beds and rooms. Would not want to stay there much more than 2 nights.

Very old hotel, with very old dirty beds & bathroom was moldy.
Very hard to find something nice to write about this hotel.
This is not a 3 star hotel it is 2 stars at best. Very very noisy from the street & nightlife. Our toilet never worked, wifi did not work in our room which was annoying. The breakfast was the saddest we had in Brazil, we travelled to this hotel for the World Cup and was the worst we stayed at.

I must say that I was principally sold on this hotel because of its location and a recommendation from a friend. Now having experienced it myself I have to say I would not go rushing back if price was not a factor. I have to admit to having been disappointed on several scores.

First, I asked for a double room and got a twin room. Yes, there may have been no other rooms available, but that is no excuse for beds that size. The single bed was tiny, the mattress very soft and the linen worn out and frayed (including the thinnest and hardest bathroom towels I have ever encountered). I did ask to be moved, but no effort was made to do this.

Secondly, the carpets in the room was old and threadbare and as result have ceased to make for a welcoming environment. Seriously the room was a little depressing.

Thirdly, the wifi was a little bit unreliable, but only on the first day admittedly. On other days it was fine, but a little bit slow.

On a more positive note, breakfast was a nice mix of hot and cold buffet, that included many different breads, fruits, juices, cheeses. The service was generally very good and the people very helpful. The downstairs waiting area was also a nice place to wait for people. The reception area in contrast to the rooms is nice and welcoming.

Finally, as for the location, it is very conveniently located and gives you many options as to what to do and where to eat.

A good revamp, new linen, carpets etc and this place will be more welcoming

Room Tip: Avoid rooms 208, 308 that are in the corner and very close to the street...they are very noisy and t...

The hotel is conveniently located near all the best bars and restaurants of the city and Bar Opinião (where good international bands play sometimes). The room was spacious, furniture fairly new, with a safe, clean linen, bathroom was pretty clean with a good pressure shower. The only thing that wasn't so great was the a/c which was old and noisy and kept me from sleeping until I turned it off. Breakfast was very good, with a lot of fresh fruits and a good selection of juices. Wi-fi didn't work so great from the 2nd floor. There is a taxi stop just outside the hotel which is very convenient, there is a very good supermarket on the same street.
