There is so much to say about this place; good, bad and down right annoying.

The Good:
Location is a massive win for this establishment. The views over Lagoa da Conceicao are simply incredible, providing a beautiful location to chill during the day or night, read a book, indulge in food or simply drink and socialise. The lake and a beautiful beach are simply minutes away (navigate a steep hill - be warned).
Free Caiprinha (tastes sublime) every night between 6 & 7pm with your guest wristband.
To say this spot is sociable is an understatement. Plenty of open areas to engage in social activities from beer pong to chilled guitar sessions.
One of the biggest plusses is that if you go during Brazilian holiday season (early February for example) this place has a great 1:1 ratio of Brazilians to foreigners. Leads to a great atmosphere.
Quality of food is also pretty decent.

The Bad:
Rooms are HOT. REALLY HOT. SWEATY HOT. If you choose a room with no air-con, you may well melt in the summer.
Prices aren't what you would consider budget, BUT this is Brazil.
The pool was contaminated. A few people had contracted Pink Eye.
Wrist bands act as a tab... pay at the end of your stay which, for those left prudent out there (myself included) encourages reckless abandon. Watch your tab.
Most tours aren't great. In fact, they are quite simply a rip off! Search around or go independent.

The Annoying:
Stairs, Stairs, Stairs. If you are located at the bottom of the complex... you'll begin to resent stairs. Plenty of climbing, which does me plenty of exercise.
Staff are completely irritating, especially one Italian chap (who shall remain unnamed but you'll soon spot / hear him). He bullies guests into taking tours, he bullies guests into buying things and he simply acts like a complete pain. Physical abuse and social embarrassment are his favourite tactics. Other staff are ok, neither here nor there.

Overall it was fun. Great fun but watch out for the issues as this place ain't perfect.

Had a great few nights at sunset. Its a really social hostel with a great bar/restaurant, TV area and small pool and sun deck. The food is pretty good, including the standard free brazilian breakfast, the BBQ and buffet are definitely worth the money. Guest kitchen was a bit dirty but well equipped. Free caipirinhas each night are strong, and drinks well priced. The bar did shut pretty early each night though. I was in the 8 bed superior which was pretty spacious with massive lockers under the beds and a nice big balcony with hammocks to watch the sunset over the laguna. Bathrooms were pretty clean, and decent hot showers. Its just a 5 minute walk to nice Mole beach, and 45 mins along to the sandboarding area in Joaquina, perfect. Most of the staff were lovely and friendly and helpful, and a super cute dog too. The transfer to the P12 pool party on the bus with all the hostel crew was a great laugh, make sure you are there on a Saturday to go!

I stayed here for a number of nights and have enjoyed myself in this relaxed well equipped hostel. You get a wristband on checking which all your drinks and food get charged to. You can pay it off at anytime or on checkout. Free breakfast which is substantial and filling. For 20 Reals you can enjoy the all you can eat lunch buffet that goes from about 1200-1600 make the most of it. Beers are around 6 Reals each, with a happy hour at 1830-1930 with a free caparinia. There is a vibrant evening bar and pool. You can catch a bus from the bus stop outside the hostel (the 360) to Lagoa for 3 reals. It takes about 10 minutes to get to the central bus station. In town there is a Bank of Brasil and a subway. Try and buy a large water from the supermarket as the hostel charge 3.50 Reals for a Small bottle if water. There is no free drinking water either. By the central bus station there is a good gym with cardio and free weights 35 Reals a day or 80 fir a week. It opens all week and until 1400 Saturday and closed Sunday. Down the road from the hostel there are bars where you can buy large beers for 8 Reals. They also have pool tables. There are many sushi bars along with dune surfing and water activities along the lake front. You can walk to Lagoa in about 40 mins. Make sure you keep on top of your tab and enjoy Floruanopolis.

Loved my stay at this hostel! Didn't know much about the area when I arrived, but everyone was so helpful! Met some really good people who were also staying in the hostel which made my time there awesome. Staff told me all the great spots to check out during the day, and the best places to go at night. I definitely want to come back sometime soon, and I will definitely be staying at this hostel again. Definitely do one of the hostels tours, they sure know how to have a good time!

Best hostel in the best place in the island. Very organized, with great tours to parties and day trips, like Guarda do Embau(my favorite). Awesome staff, that are always happy to help you. Great people also staying there. One free caipirinha every night, delicious food, stunning views, and p12, best party in Floripa…Loved it!!!
