Description: One of the most traditional bars in the city of Sao Paulo, with more than 90 years of existence and history. Opening at Lg. Paissandu (1922) coincided with the Week of Modern Art, and soon intellectuals, artists, modernists adopted the bar as stronghold. Students at Largo Law School San Francisco also became regulars. One of his most distinguished students, Casimir Pinto Neto, the Bauru, who had that nickname for being the city of Bauru (SP), was responsible for the invention of the sandwich that bore his name (1936), The BAURU FAMOUS and even today Chic Point maintains its original recipe: The CHIC SPOT BAURU is a delicious sandwich on French bread with thin slices of roast beef, tomato slices, pickled cucumber and a mixture of four types of cheeses in a water bath (cheese platter, steppe Gouda and Swiss). The shops have a varied menu with snacks, portions and traditional dishes of Sao Paulo culture. It is a must visit CHIC DOT and know the traditions and the delights that are successful for so long! Today there are three stores in Sao Paulo (Paissandu, Partridges and Paraiso).

The tradicional "bauru" is a delicious sandwich with a great slice of cheese. One of the restaurants is located downtown, in the Paiçandu Square, where you can get easily using public transportation, like bus and subway.

This is a simple place. Simple atmosphere, simple food. But it is excellent. Been there, and had to come once again. Great food, and a very friendly service. A taste of Sao Paulo!

This is a very traditional fast food restaurant from the old times. A famous kind of sandwich called "Baurú" was invented there. Unfortunatelly the neigborhoods have change for the worst, and it is now dangerous to ho there. Also I have to say the food and the service aren't the same. I was wondering if it is the same owner or it have changed. I also try the other location near " Parque da Água Branca", which is safer, but not the great "Baurú" from the past.

Simple place with very good food, try the famous Bauru Sandwich. A little bit expensive for what it offers.

Try Ponto Chic's "Bauru". It's a very known and traditional sandwich created in the original Ponto Chic at São Paulo downtown during early 20th century. The sandwich is an exclusivity of the place and it's tasty and exquisite. If you need a full meal, try Ponto Chic's "Filet à Parmegiana", a huge beef prepared with tomatoes sauce, sided with rice and fries. You can change fries for "polenta" (it is made with corn). It serves up to three people!
