“OK Hotel but terrible service”
Reviewed 9 April 2013

The hotel is nice enough & it seems that they have recently refurbished a lot of the rooms. It's in a pretty good area with lots of bars & restaurants around & is right next to a shopping mall.

The problems come with the size of the hotel, which is pretty huge and caters to lots of groups. Unfortunately, there seem to be never enough staff for check in & check out, meaning there are usually long waits for both. If you happen to arrive or depart at a busy time, you could wait an hour or more! This inevitably leads to people either commencing or finishing their stay(or both!), with a poor opinion of the service.

Dear,
We appreciate your positive feedback. As dissatisfaction with waiting to check in or check-out report that will be passed to the responsible department so we can try to remedy the ocrrido when we have large groups staying at the hotel.
It is a great pleasure to have you with us and hope to see you very soon and will provide an entirely pleasant stay.

If you can, choose to stay at Moma Tower, which is quieter, has bigger rooms, bigger beds (king size) and better quality furniture. Guests of this tower have a quicker and personalised check in and check out.
The breakfast is good too, with great variety (both american and tropical foods).
It's a great hotel, in a great location: right in front of a good shopping mall (Ibirapuera).
It has a good heated pool, and a great gym.
The air conditioning system is fantastic! I set it up for 17ºC and it really kept this temperature all night long.
Anyway, I strongly recommend this hotel, mainly for business trip.

Room Tip: Choose to stay at Moema´s Tower

* Location:
It's in a vibrant neighborhood (Moema), next to a big shopping mall, close to many hair salons and restaurants.
( Ibirapuera shopping mall is open from 10am to 10pm - monday to saturday - and from 2pm to 8pm on sunday)

* Transportation:
Congonhas Airport is 4 km away - taxi fares from BR$25 to BR$50 depending on the day, time of the day and traffic.
Taxis were available at request. I didn't have to wait more than 3min any time I requested one. There are no subway stations nearby, but they are under construction.

* Room service :
Some options available 24 hours a day - I ordered a hamburger with fries at 2 am and it came quickly but it didn't taste very good.

* Staff:
Attentive but not very friendly.

* Complimentary breakfast buffet:
Lots of choices. The food, however, was nothing special.

* The sleep:
Great!
I haven't been bothered by any noise.
The bedding and the bed were so comfortable...

* Complimentary wireless:
The first night was terrible. It was very slow and dropped a lot of times (maybe due to a storm?). The following days it was fast and reliable.

It's a great hotel, very comfortable, in a great location right in front of a shopping mall. The room was very big and comfortable furniture specially bed. Breakfast is good too. It's a convention hotel, so obviously there is a lot of people coming and going, the hotel is pretty busy what can take a little time for check in and check outs, but it's still safe as they check every visitors id so no one goes up without identification. The elevators are a bit old and have some trouble sometimes. The internet wifi was great, easy to access, could access more than one computer and no problems there at all. Overall, for brazilian standards this was a good hotel specially for the price.

WE HOLD COMPANY EVENTS AT THIS HOTEL EVERY 6 TO 8 WEEKS.

* The hotel is VERY bureaucratic when it comes to paper work for the events. So much so that every event (which has only one format), takes us well over 30 emails to fully have it arranged
:(
* The illumination in one of the the large convention rooms is poor.
* The price vs quality is good.
* The hotel's location is its best asset! Right next to a large mall, taxis, restaurants and shops in the area!
* The rooms - if you are in the newly renovated tower, the rooms are very good. Otherwise, old and rather smelly (humidity)...
* Careful with the hotel parking - operated by another company - VERY expensive and the attendants have never heard of customer service! I had issues with them far too often, and for me it is the worse part or service offered by the hotel. If visiting a guest, please request the room number as the charge for guests parking is $8 Reais (about $4USD per day) versus $35 Reais for 12 hours ($18 USD!)! Yep, outrageous!
* The reception is a bit slow, but I believe it has to do with the system - very bureaucratic as I mentioned earlier.

Nice place, excellent location, good value for money. Some flaws could be corrected with the right training, and the overall management of the hotel should also review its policies and procedures to minimize paperwork and inconvenience to the client. Parking company in charge should be replaced immediately!

Room Tip: New tower - renovated rooms. Check all items including aircon when you get your room...

Average hotel. Dark atmosphere in the corridors, even the room. Lot of dark brown. Cold floor material. Brazil has a problem with not many people speaking english, quite a few of those non-english speakers work at this hotel. Grumpy lady as breakfast attendent, only smiles and laughs with her colleagues, not to/with her guests.

I stayed this hotel in Oct. 2012 for 4 nights for biz purpose. The room was OK but at most of time, internet connection (Wifi) was out of service and I could not check E-mails. I called several times operater but the answer I got was it will be OK but never been OKed.
Also, at the last day, when I got back to the room, my room was not serviced. As it was almost midnight, I did not complained but just went to bed. I never had such a case in my life time.
I do not recommend anybody stay this hotel.
