When you book an Ibis you don't expect to be staying in a high end luxury hotel. The brand offers accommodation at the budget end of the market.
The Ibis Paulista provides exactly that. Basic accommodation, a little tired, rooms that are functional but without charm or views. We weren't expecting much, and didn't really get much, but weren't disappointed.
The location is very good, and the price during the FIFA World Cup was exceptionally good.
Would I book again - probably not - because I usually go a little more upmarket. But if you are on a tight budget and can get a great price and are realistic with your expectations it may suit you.

Room Tip: The windows do little to prevent the noise from the street. Ask for a higher room. Don't expec...

Lay out of the room is very much similar to the one I had visited in London before.
The stay was good and the room was clean!
But the room is not sound proof, so you can hear every time people open n close their room doors.
The only thing is that there was a werid guy staying opposite us, it seems like he was stalking on us ad whenever we open our room door to go out or got back to hotel room, he will open his door to talk to us.
He goes in & out of his room frequently.
We stayed in the same room and decided to ignore him totally since we only have 2 more days to go before we head towards Rio.

The hotel is right in the heart of São Paulo and a great location to see the centre. The breakfast is good and they make small variations on the menu each day. The room is small but functional and clean. Drinks and food menu lacked choice ad was expensive.

Plus: location, in Av. Paulusta, metro in front, as well as the airport busstop. Nice lobby, good breakfast buffet. Also important, the new ibis bed is very good!
Minus: the bathroom is in need for renovation, as well as the rest of the room which is showing it's age. But the main problem is: DUST. It is everywhere, and the ladies in houskeeping do not have the time or the means to make the rooms dustfree. (With only a swiper you never reach the corners, you need to vacuum... But without vc thats difficult) furthermore, the places that you can not easily see tend ti be forgotten... I looked under the bed and became too afraid to look in too of the closet. All in all i would say to management: improve cleaning and i will be back.

This was my first time in an Ibis budget. If you set your expectations for a pretty good bed and a shower- and don't plan to spend time in the hotel, its not a bad place to be. Some things you should know though- the low price point comes at a cost. Rooms are really made for one person with luggage, or 2 people with minimal luggage. Check ins are pretty show but the staff is pretty friendly. Rooms are tiny, but impressive how the space is optimized - and the beds are a lot more comfy than you would expect. Trick to save space: put your luggage under the bed. You need to pack shampoo (what a pain in the butt!!), and will likely have to visit the front desk for an extra towel. The location here is good if you are metro'ing around Sao Paulo. Wifi is free and decent.

Room Tip: Set your expectations for a very small but efficiently laid out room.
