Often these hip hotels are not functional for business. I came to Unique from Fasano in Rio which was great but I could not work in the room. Here at Unique I get free Wi Fi that allows me to work efficiently and well and a desk light and a bright room (albeit a dark elevator.) Free Veuve Clicquot on check in and smoothies at breakfast plus free Wi Fi in Sao Paulo's hippest hotel with great rooms and a unique style. How could you go wrong - it is perfection.

As there are 3 high quality hotels with modern design in Sao Paulo we decided to try the UNIQUE. And there is only one word that can describe this hotel: HUGE.
The impression of the hotel is pretty breathtaking on arrival as a 7 meter high entrance door will be opened for you and when you walk in you stand in a huge hall, just like in a museum. You cannot imagine that this should be a hotel as well. but it is. The little reception desk welcomes you with free Veuve Cliquot and the receptionists (just men!) were so nice that you already felt relaxed.
The elevator is pretty dark, nearly black, so people who suffer from claustrophobia might get nervous. Our room, a premium room (one kategory higher than the lowest) was not huge but ok. L'OCCITANE amenities were quite a treat and on the bed table were some yummy Macarons and free bottled water waiting for us. Free white Havaianas as well.
We were here on a private holiday trip but all other guests were business people.

The very famous SKY BAR is nice but it can get windy up there. The view at the skyline of Sao Paulo simply is amazing, by day and by night. The roof top pool is ideal for a sporty swim as it is long enough to do some real strokes what is not usual for roof top pools. As the tiles are red the water seem not as nice as you are used to from pretty turquoise pools but it definitely is something "different". Food and cocktails are ok, but I think the bar is more worth the view than the food & drinks.
A minus for the location: as there is nothing interesting close by despite beeing pretty central you always have to take a taxi. I usually love to pop our of my hotel and have some food or drinks around the corner in the night before I go to sleep. But here you have to drive everywhere.
I might not come back to this hotel as I would also love to try the Emiliano and Fasano which are right within the buzzy centre but we had a nice stay in here.

There's not much things to say about this hotel, except that it is great. the hotel is a bit old and the quality of the materials (furniture, decoration, etc.) is not the best but the hotel breathes fashion and glamour everywhere. the staff was amazing, the food was gorgeous but the highlight of it all is offcourse the sky bar. brazil is known for the good looking women and warmth of the locals and the skybar shows you all that and much more. i recommend it to anyone looking for a goodtime and to someone who apreciates the finnest things in life.

Dear Mr. Antoine,

Thank you very much for your comments about Unique.
You are right to say that we are the coolest in town and for this reason, besides the ongoing renovation, we started this year, to invest on many projects. I would love you to come back and check the new lightening project, new pool garden done by Gilberto Elkis, new lobby furniture, tvs and many other new great actions. We are very excited about that!
Also please see If you like our new facebook page.
Thank you again and hope to see you soon!
Sincerely,
Melissa Oliveira

Hotel Unique is very nice. This is the ONLY Brazilian hotel that I actually like. The decor is phenominal! The staff was very nice and it's very quiet and peaceful. The beds are comfly and the bathroom was spacious enough as well. I did not get in the tub, but it seemed comfortable. I always recommend this hotel to all of my colleagues when we travel there. The Skye Bar (on the rooftop) is really nice and at night it's the place to be!

Previous reviewers have already given this hotel the raves it richly deserves for comfort and service. I would only add my recommendation to take a minute and walk to the sidewalk in front of the hotel and view the amazing and detailed architecture. It's quite a work of art and pictures don't seem to do it justice.

My room on the 4th floor had an amazing view of Ibirapuera Park and the expansive city skyline beyond. The shower was fantastic. I enjoyed the built-in speakers and that they made it easy to snap the plug into my mp3 player to enjoy excellent stereo sound. The only negatives I'd point out are that the room lacks a make-up mirror and there's no comfortable reading chair, just 2 smaller desk chairs.

My favorite thing about this hotel was the roof top restuarant Sky and lounge with breathtaking views of the Sau Paulo skyline. Dinner was perfect, cocktails delicious. before or after dinner you can lounge outdoors poolside with Sau Paulo's beautiful people. This is a must when in Sau Paulo in my opinion though I didnt see Naomi Campbell. Rooms and amenities as is the restaurant is high end priced. Acomodations are nice but small. Even if you choose not to stay at the hotel you should dine there. Nearby hotel Emiliano is a 5 star with much nicer larger rooms in a high rise with better rates just not as Unique.

Looks really cool and service is truly attentive but the rooms are minuscule. Avoid the cheaper rooms if you need to be in your room for anything but sleeping.
