“Great Hotel, great Location”

Small by the size, great by any other consideration.
Best location in town, on Oscar Freire, just in front the best coffee shop in Sao Paulo, Santo Grao.
Great suites with perfect beds and wonderful swimming pool on the roof top.
A while ago, I stay at this hotel 3+ month in a row while relocating in Sao Paulo. It was perfect.

I’ve spent a couple of nights at the Emiliano, it was my first time in SP and overall was extremely pleased with my hotel choice.

The Emiliano sits at the end of the most renowned street of SP, which in my opinion is always a big plus regardless the city or place you visit. It features a big parking right below the hotel building - very useful to us since we were traveling with our own car.

Even if built almost 15 years ago, the hotel’s design and taste are still up to date. Lounge, restaurant and rooms are very neat, simple but at the same time chic and modern with some interesting touches of contemporary art.

We tried the Suite Emiliano and the Deluxe twin room.
Both were very nice and impeccably clean, though the first was of a clearly different level: very spacious and luminous with glass doors facing the main street, large bathroom, great sofa and bed, fast wifi connection, equipped with all the possible features needed for a pleasant business or leisure stay. I've also enjoyed the fresh fruit and little treats delivered at your arrival and every morning during the stay.

The staff was extremely professional even though more oriented to a business clientele I think.

I would definitely return and highly recommend especially if travelling on business trips.

This hotel is lovely - the service and food are amazing. The staff are friendly and the beds so comfy it was like being at home! The only real negative comment was that the lift areas and corridors are slightly shabby and the lifts slow - would definitely return!

This is the best hotel in São Paulo. It's expensive, yes, but even better then Porto Bay. Rooms are spacious, very tastefully designed, with a lot of pillows on the bed. And the amenities in the room and bathroom were among the best I have ever seen in a hotel (girls love). The shower is also great! If you can, try to stay here at least a day. It's perfect for romance! The restaurant and SPA is also very good.

I stayed in the hotel as part of a corporate event (even though I currently live in the city, so I haven't been in a SP hotel in a while).

The hotel is located in "Jardims" the classiest district of Sao Paulo, wiht plenty of restaurants and nice stores (for Sao Paulo's standards, so far from NYC or Paris) within walking distance.

I must say that the service is very attentive. They offer you free water/refreshments when checking in, plus a courtesy 15 minute massage.

the spa, while small, is very nice. Great massages plus free "ofuro" outdoors, in a little patio surrounded by vegetation, so that you don't believe you are in the city.

The restaurant, while expensive, is very good.

I recommend the hotel for those comming to Sao Paulo for business. I would say the price of the hotel is quite expensive.

The first thing that strikes you when arriving at the hotel is the construction. A very slim reflective glass tower that reaches to over 20 stories with a flat canopy on the top extending from all four sides – which is in fact a helipad (regrettably I was not fortunate enough for my first impressions of the Emiliano to be from the air). I arrived at 7AM off an overnight London flight and yet the room was made available almost immediately after a quick breakfast of eggs benedict and fresh fruit, both of which were excellent (the latter is normally the case in Brazil with great local tropical produce). The restaurant is spacious, airy (with an extraordinarily high ceiling), with one wall covered in foliage. Service was excellent although I was the only person having breakfast at 7AM.

Exiting the lift reveals the small numbers of rooms per floor: just three. The room (602) was spacious, very tastefully designed with an abundance of assorted shaped pillows on the bed. The room faced from the rear side of the property over an unremarkable view of other residential blocks (but then this is Sao Paulo). The front facing rooms I imagine have a somewhat more aesthetic outlook. The amenities in the room and bathroom were among the best I have ever seen in a hotel. The walk-in shower (no bath) had excellent pressure and generous good quality shampoo/conditioner/shower gel etc. Overall I found the room extremely comfortable with plenty of storage and tastefully decorated.

The hotel has a gym and spa (I didn’t visit) but no swimming pool. Location is one of the better districts in the city (equivalent to London Bond Street / NY 5th Av) for designer boutiques and a great selection of eateries.

I stay at the Emiliano whenever I get the chance. It's as well run as any hotel I've ever stayed at--as good as any Aman, Dorchester, or Four Seasons. The hotel feels more like a well appointed home than a hotel and the entire staff is extremely well trained, always exceeding any expectations and anticipating anything I would need.

My one minor warning about the hotel is about upgrades. I am a member of various clubs, have various credit cards and am used to being upgraded. When I joined the Leading Hotels of the World, I joined because I saw that the Emiliano was a member. Since then, I've stayed at the hotel a number of times and have never been upgraded. I asked about this and was told that the hotel is an all suite hotel so they don't upgrade from one category to another even if they have an empty room.
This policy is fine now that I know it, but a huge part of my experience of a hotel is based on expectations. So if you expect to be upgraded, you will likely be disappointed. That being said, the smallest rooms are still very large and very nice (but don't have a bath tub).
