The hotel was located in a great area for my meetings. Besides for a starbucks which is close by though - there is very little of interest in terms of shops or restaurants close by to the hotel. i had a good room with lots of space and which had a good desk station in order to work.
The 2 largest downsides of the hotel are:
1. poor sound insulation of the windows - you can clearly hear the street downstairs
2. food - although the hotel makes a good effort to make bufets - and to change the buffet daily. the food is simply nothing special. the seafod pasta was simply not eadible - and the breakfast leaves much to be desired. You would think in a country with such abundant fruit that at least the juices would be natural. Even the cheese in the buffet was 'sweating' as it was not being kept cool.

I generally stay at Hilton Morumbi or Sao Paulo Sheraton. But I couldn't find a room in either. My Brazilian collegaues managed to get a reservation for me at Estanplaza Berrini.

The place has most of the basics. Having some additional amenities in the room would go a long way in making this place more enticing for people who are looking for more decent yet reasonable places instead of $500/night hotels. Provide a pair of sleepers, an iron and kleenex. There are essential elements one expects in a decent hotel these days.

The breakfast at the hotel is really great and is comparable to that one gets in high-end hotels. The hotel staff are also very helpful and friendly.

Value for the money wise this hotel is very good. Adding a few more services would make this place great.

I stayed at this hotel due to its promixity to our Sao Paulo office.

Room Tip: Stay away from rooms on the front side of the hotel facing Avenue Berrini. Your sleep could be inter...

Rooms are spacious, conviniently furnished, air conditioning as they like it around here (penguins would love it) , telephone, connection LAN to Internet, plasma television, pipped music, a minibar, a customized writing-desk and a safety box. They have a nice gym in the top floor with a nive view of this huge city. Staff is just great: Always ready to help. The swiming pool is tiny. Do not expect training for the olimpics here, but you can freshen up a bit.

Room Tip: It is a business hotel. Actually Sao Paulo is a business city. The rooms can be a bit old fashioned...

Just wrapped up a two-week stay at the Estanplaza Berrini. Hotels in Sao Paulo are pretty expensive and the budget didn't allow me to go with the international brands in this popular business area, so I wasn't sure what to expect. All in all, not a bad place at all but they are missing a few things to be truly suitable for business travel. In terms of the good and bad:
+ Good-sized room with a separate love seat, ottoman and large desk.
+ Very clean and housekeeping did a great job.
+ Great service at reception. Every inquiry was met well with good English. They even helped me reheat some leftover pizza and did it with a smile.
+ Great wifi. You can get constrained bandwidth for free or pay for a faster speed. I tried both ways and found their system clever in terms of switching devices and pretty speedy.
+ Breakfast is amazing. Rotating selections of fruits, juices, bread and pastries. The setup is low hassle, so it's easy to drop in and grab something quick but it's also nice enough to linger over.

- No iron and board are available. I couldn't believe this. Instead you are required to use their laundry service, even just for pressing.
- Exercise area isn't too bad but the treadmills are creaky and the area is pretty crowded in the mornings. The plus side is it has great views and pleasant breezes streaming in.
- Only about a dozen TV channels and CNN the only English one.
- It's a big desk, but there's no phone on it. The only landline is next to the bed, and it doesn't have speakerphone or mute. (I know -- who uses the hotel landline? -- but I had some long calls and didn't need to pay mobile roaming.)
- Laundry is always a ripoff at hotels but this place was extraordinarily so. A week of clothes was more than R$100. There's a laundry place on the street just south of the hotel but without speaking some Portuguese, it might be hard to manage.
- It can be noisy. The windows aren't double pane and don't cinch closed, so street noise was ever present along with the barks of neighborhood dogs.
- Restaurant is pretty basic. Room service menu doesn't offer much beyond grilled meat and french fries. There are two restaurants on the block immediately south of the hotel and I ate at those instead for more variety.

Location is a mixed bag. If you're staying down here, it's likely for work and no doubt the location is convenient for offices from Vila Olympia to Morumbi. I found it completely safe to walk around until 10PM or so, at which time things started to get a little desolate for my taste. But to get to the city center or anywhere fun (Vila Madalena, Rua Augusta, Ibirapuera Park, etc.), you're looking at long metro trips or expensive taxi rides.

I'd stay here again if I had the same budget constraints, but they've got a little work to do to be a good business hotel.

Room Tip: I enjoyed a room on the north side for the open views and pleasant spring breezes through the sunny...

I stayed here 3 nights this week and found the hotel to be fine. It is not a special hotel nor is it in a special location.
The rooms are relatively small and the furniture is very plain.
The hotel restaurant is ok although not outstanding.
I don't have a good perspective on the value versus cost but I am told that the rate 389 Brazil $ is pretty reasonable including breakfast.
One small advantage is that the hotel is directly across the street from the police station.
One item to note is that the fitmess center looks like it was last upgraded in 1960. Very old equipment and the pool looks more like a puddle in the corner of the room. It also looks quite dirty.

I travelled to São Paulo in business for a week and stayed at Estanplaza Berrini. Very good hotel, with a very nice room. Super comfortable and big, with a cute area as a closet and a hidden bathroom behind a mirror door - super cool! All the service was excelent - room service, cleaning and laundry, all perfect. Good Café da Manhã da Fazenda (breakfast), with all sorts of treats. The location worked just fine for me since I was 2 blocks away from the office. I highly recommend this hotel if you're travelling in business and it has been a while since the last time you went home..

I stayed last night (September 12) at this hotel. I actually tried to book a room at the Gran Estanplaza, which is located 1 mile away from Estanplaza Berrini, and had a previous experience, but there was no vacancy at that date.

I fully agree with other travelers. Estanplaza is a pretty good brand, but quality is not consistent from location to location. I paid BRL 379 for a king size bed, whereas a de luxe room at the Gran Estanplaza is BRL250. I have raised my expectations in respect to the room, and got disappointed. Understand that Estaplanza self rate the Gran place as a 5-star business hotel and 4-star for Berrini, but I would rate it as a 3-star. Furniture is contemporary, but dated. The bathroom ceiling needs some painting, and there was an unpleasent smell in the entire room. Services are fair, but not captivating. I definetely will try the Gran Estanplaza or the Hyatt next time in Sao Paulo.
