“Good for business trip”
Reviewed 9 March 2014

Hotel transamerica is a very good option for business trip.
The rooms are clean and nice, with good details. Nevertheless a little bit of humid smell.
Have a nice poll and very nice sport opcion. The restaurant is bufet, and despite that I dont like "bufet way" have good quality of food.
I do recomend this hotel for short business trip.

Transamerica is a large hotel, not entirely modern, but with good classic style. My room was very good and comfortable. I was there attending a conference and stayed for 5 nights. Breakfast was excellent, so was the one lunch I ate in the restaurant on premises. The spring weather was perfect, so it was nice to take a break with coffee, beer or a caipirinha in the garden.

The location is a bit off the beaten track, quite on the other side of the megacity from the Guarulhos airport. Similarly, when one wanted to go the city for dinner or some music in the evenings, it always involved a lengthy taxi ride.

There was also an unfortunate incident when one of the foreign conference participants had her purse stolen while she was chatting with other participants. Sure, she was careless and not paying attention--and Sao Paulo does have its share of petty and not so petty crime--but this was inside of the hotel lobby.

Thank you for staying at the Hotel Transamérica São Paulo. Your opinion is very important for us to continue improving our services.
The hotel lobby is a public area, we have security all the time. Sooner this incident has happened, the hotel manager gave her all the support and it has been possible to have back most part of her belongs, included the passaport.
We hope to see you again more times.

Let me start by saying that I have never stayed at the Transamerica. I have, however, enjoyed one of the most incredible afternoons at this hotel and thus felt the need to recommend it and its delicious food and drinks.

I was lucky enough to be in Sao Paulo to witness spectacular circus that is the the Formula 1 Grand Prix. My friend and I were staying elsewhere but we were required to visit the Transamerica to pick up our race passes. After collecting the tickets, we decided to have a drink at the hotel bar and enjoy the afternoon sun. We sipped on a couple of perfectly blended Caipirinhas - cool, zesty and refreshing - and gazed calmly over the Transamerica's pretty garden and 3-hole golf course.

As we enjoyed a couple more drinks, we were treated to an incredible show as members of the Formula 1 entourage - drivers, engineers and team bosses - were taxi'd by helicopter from the track to the hotel, landing right in front of our eyes on the golf course. We saw a number of famous faces, and as the day turned in to evening, the bar filled up with hundreds of Formula 1 staff. We chatted with members of various teams as we sampled treats from the menu - mainly from the incredible selection of cured meats and cheeses. A couple of our favourite drivers appeared for dinner with their friends and colleagues which really capped off the whole experience.

The Transamerican seems to welcome the Formula 1 to town annually and the hotel temporarily transforms into a bit of an F1 museum. There were pieces of memorabilia scattered throughout the lobby which, for the motor racing fan, made the whole place feel quite special. Whilst I don't think it's possible to book a room in the hotel when the F1 is in town (I believe the hotel is booked entirely by the various teams) it was certainly worth dropping by to observe the spectacle up close. The hotel itself if very nice, the restaurant and bar menu is great and won't disappoint. Plus, you might get to see a star!

I should add - please be respectful of those who are effectively working at this event and act appropriately.

Transamérica is the official hotel from the F1 Race. If you intend to stay with us for next year during the F1 World championship, please let us know sooner as possible and we can check our availability.
Every year during the F1 race, we set the hotel for this event and most of people have enjoyed that, as you had.
We hope to see you again more times.

The hotel and rooms are a little old, no free water in the room, no cattle to boil water. The breakfast is ok, not so many selections but enough for a good start to the day. Location is perfect if you visit transamerica exhibition convention center. 5 min walk distance but they even offer free shuttle. But, the hotel is pricy and I think it's just because of the location.

The hotel is five star, and it shows. The facilities are fantastic and the staff are some of the friendliest and most efficient I have ever come across. Food is fantastic. If you are attending a conference as we were then the convenience is a huge plus.

The only negatives, and the reasons for a four start rating, are the pricing (which may be irrelevant for business travellers) and that the hotel is poorly situated for walking anywhere. If you are not attending a conference its a taxi ride to any places of interest.

The other negative is no tea/coffee facilities in the rooms. This is very rare in my travel experience and a problem when jet lag wakes you up at 2am desperate for a cup of coffee.

Room Tip: There are two wings to the hotel and one has been upgraded and modernised. Request the newer wing if...

Although not a new property the hotel is kept in an innaculate conditin both inside and outside grounds. Rooms are clean and well maintained. Servce is outstanding with friendly well trained employees.

They need a few things to make it a first class hotel. Absolutely need a coffee maker in room. Plus there are no stores in the hotel where one could buy such things as snacks, water, toiletries etc. etc. Being located in an area where there are no stores within waling distance this is a big deal.

Room Tip: Hotel has been renovating much of the hotel, make certain your room is away from the renovations.

This is a large hotel which is fine if you are at a conference in the expo centre on your own, but is far removed from places of interest in Sao Paulo your partner may wish to visit. Even trips to a local supermarket will require a taxi ride. It also seems to be a dangerous location - my wife and I stayed there for five nights whilst I was at a meeting and we heard of three muggings during that time, one occurring within the hotel grounds and another two in the very short distance between the hotel and expo centre. Leaving these problems aside the hotel seemed reasonably clean and the breakfast was of a good standard although it would be helpful if the tables were cleared more rapidly.
