“Poor facilities saved only by great staff”
Reviewed 28 October 2013

I'm currently staying here on business and regret my company's choice of this hotel. I stay in hotels all over the world and I have never experienced any hotel anywhere that does not have ironing facilities. Instead you have to pay over $10 per shirt to have them ironed...oh and that's another $3 or so if you want them back the same day...outrageous. That is a minor issue compared to the bedding which is a duvet sandwiched between two sheets which inevitably means that you end up sleeping with the duvet with no cover on it. This is so far from hygienic as to be laughable. If you have problems with your knees, good luck climbing in to the bath/shower as it requires a fairly flexible person to do so. The room is noisy during daylight from traffic and I'm on the 11th floor, fortunately, during the night it's a fairly quiet area so traffic noise is not an issue until about 5am. In any event the noise from the minibar would drown it out from time to time. As for watching TV in bed, forget it. Even extended on it's 'arm' as far as it can, you can only see 75% of the screen due to a pillar and if you're on the side nearest the TV you can hardly see anything. The internet connection is slow (and not that cheap) and drops in and out constantly.

The only thing that lifts this hotel out of a 1 rating is that the staff are charming, cheerful and helpful, just a shame that they are forced to apologise for the failings of what could be a nice hotel. Our company uses this hotel a lot and quite frankly I shall be recommending they find somewhere else. Disappointing!

The staff is very attentive. Check in and check out are expedite and your requests are not only answered but also on the first time. It is a little pricey for what it is, however. It would not rate as a real 5 stars when you consider room comfort, bathroom amenities and overall living space. Working is not very easy due to the "modern" trend of saving on lighting devices. The shower is adjusted to a low water flow (at least in my room). The staff had it readjusted to a decent flow of both hot and cold water after I asked for it. Breakfast is good and there is a good variety of choices. As the address is on a side street, both the car who took me and the one who came to pick me up had a little trouble finding the front entrance to the hotel. If you are working in the Berrini region within walking distance, it is a good option if you negotiate a good price. Otherwise, it is not worth it since the traffic in Berrini is even worse than the average São Paulo chaos.

Acceptable hotel. It is the result of a great hotel from years ago but needs a full refresh.
Old facilities and windows which makes it quite noisy given the surrounding traffic. The bathroom also needs to be refurbished.
Breakfast has variety but misses some more continental food.

Solid business hotel, perfect for work, families or tourists. Room was oversized and spotlessly clean. Very comfortable beds. Free Wifi worked just fine, unless you want to live stream videos, but worked fine for Skype/Facetime.
The breakfast buffet was very elaborate with live piano music. The coffee is fabulous! They have continental and hot options and a very tasty Brazillian breakfast specialty buffet. They have the bost beautiful and sweet tropical fruits! The bar tender makes a mean caprihinha, which is not to be missed. I liked the maracuja caprihinha. The restaurant serves typical Brazillian specialties, such as Tambaqui, the Amazon river fish ribs in a pink peppercorn sauce. You should not miss these. The prices are comparable to any of the restaurants in the nearby mall Shopping Marumbi.
The gym is VERY nice and complete with good equipment. Traffic is an issue and make sure that your destination is close in proximity. This hotel is close to Sheraton, Hyatt and Hilton.
Staff are very, very friendly and helpful. Renato at the front desk was very kind and helpful. Jaoa at the front door was helpful in getting taxis.
I will always stay here on my trips to Sao Paulo. Try to stay over on a Wednesday or Saturday so you can go try feijoada at any of the closeby restaurants.
Over all, 2 thumbs up. I only give 4 stars because it's not a 5 star luxurious hotel, but then again you are only paying for 4 stars. The prices at this hotel are not "expensive" as others say...Sao Paulo is generally higher priced that New York City, so this hotel is reasonable compared to the standard cost of living in the city.

I tell you, hotel in Brazil is very expensive and you always pay more than it returns to you. I am a regular client of this property and always come back because they usually recognize us as a returning client and they spoil us with some treats that I do not experience anywhere else. It is not new, but still nice. Breakfast has different options and restaurant is very good. This property has a prime location because you can just cross a calm street and you are inside the D&D shopping mall where you can find nice cafes and restaurants, drugstore, hair dresser, ATM machines and so on, but most stores here are for decor staff. In 5 or 10 min by common taxi (not more than 12 reais), you arrive at the Morumbi shopping and find yourself in a very nice area for shopping and gastronomy delights. An advise: business taxi - those with the driver dressed like a business man will charge a bit more). From the airport, it costs you around 140,00 reais. If you need a taxi back to the airport, ask first how much they will charge you, because some charge much more. If you do not agree, call the airport taxi co - Guarucoop in advance (2440-7070) and they charge same price from the airport. Staff at this hotel usually are very gentle. Good for leisure or business travellers.

Spent the better part of 2 years traveling here for business. The rooms and facilities were nice, the breakfast was generally good and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. If you travel for business a lot, you know the value of rewards - and unless this has changed, you get nothing staying here. Perhaps they need to add some sort of partnership would would make this a more attractive spot. You do need to be careful as a business traveler as with the Sheraton and Hilton right in the same area, you may be watched. We had a few members robbed in the area, but that is not the hotels fault. Just don't wonder around in business clothes with a laptop bag. Overall a nice, central locations for business and pleasure.
