Owner description: Elevated over a concrete platform used for concerts and a weekly crafts fair, the Museu de Arte de São Paulo (São Paulo Art Museum, abbreviated MASP) is itself a work of art; the building is an imposing Modernist box suspended under two bright red concrete supports. Featuring classical European names such as Gauguin, Goya and Gainsborough, the museum also holds one of the largest collections of Brazilian and other Latin American artists on the continent.

You cannot imagine how rich and glorious are the masterpieces in this museum. Some of the pieces are priceless. The atmosphere and exhibitions are just perfect. All the Paulistas are quite proud of it! Don't miss - and try the restaurant, really nice place.

We loved it! on the rainy day in SP it was a perfect thing to do and for free since it was Tuesday. The building is iconic itself! We were lucky to be there while their temporary exhibition was from Lucian Freud; great! Their permanent exhibition is even greater with works of Van Gogh, Renoir, Manet, Monet.... I don't rate it as 5 since it is rather small museum and cafe was not nice.

This place has a great structure and many important pieces of art.

This is a must go if you enjoy art and want to know more about Brazilian art. It is located at one of the most beautiful avenues of Sao Paulo, so after your visit, you can enjoy a nice walk around the famous Paulista Avenue. There is also a pretty park near it called Trianon, where you can see beautiful nature in the middle of the concrete jungle.

This is undoubtedly the best Museum of Brazil. Starting with the building, a modern and clean architecture, designed by the Italian architect Lina Bo Bardi. It is one of the post-cards of S.Paulo. The permanent collection isn't big but it gives visitors and excellent overview of all periods. I love this Museum and visit it often. During week-ends they have under the pilotis a nice antique fair, which I enjoy a lot.
