It is installed in the old building of the Arts and Crafts College, designed in the late nineteenth century by the architect Ramos de Azevedo. In the 1990's it underwent an extensive renovation with the architect Paulo Mendes da Rocha's project. Pinacoteca hosts about thirty exhibitions and receives about 450,000 visitors yearly. “A modern museum, with authentic art”
Reviewed 20 June 2014

what I loved most about this gallery/museum was that it is situated in the older side of town and in a area where it is kind of dirty. But this gallery gave me a fresh view on the Luz area because it is so different. Firstly the architecture is simplistic yet sophisticated and the art that is exhibited is diffrent, old, mysterious and modern. You can easily reach this place- just get of at Luz metro station!

If you love paitings and want to know brazilian art, you may love this place. An amazing architecture close to the heart of São Paulo.
Some rooms have too many paitings and you won't see th so well. After 3 or 4 hours you may be tired. But it's a good mudeum. If you can, avoid weekends

A very interesting and disquieting museum, with permanents and itinerant expositions. The building is very beautiful and located infront of the Luz station. Recomended for who want see a modern and classic museum in the same one!
