“Shame about the hammering”
Reviewed 8 March 2014 via mobile

The hotel is in a good location in the Jardins area, a block from Paulista and a short walk from the MASP gallery, which is well worth a visit. The nearest metro is MASP-Trianon. The standard room was a decent size with a huge, comfortable bed and the room could be effectively darkened for sleeping. Unfortunately there was maintenance going on in the building when we were staying which permeated the room with loud hammering from 10 till 6.They had nice L'occitane products in the bedroom. They served a good breakfast, with lots of juices and fresh fruit, but the breads were generally low quality and there were few cereals. The gym is very good for a hotel and you can do a proper workout. The pool is shallow and small. The concierge (Renata) was very helpful and gave good recommendations. The bell staff reliably got us cabs and gave directions. Most of the good restaurants were 20 minutes walk away (or a few minutes cab ride).

Dear Mr. David G,

I am very thankful to receive your comments about our hotel.

It a great pleasure to learn that you appreciated the services provided by our skilled team and that you enjoyed our special location in Sao Paulo city. The Masp Museum is deeply recommended for the important art exhibitions it holds and for the surrounding area that reveals a real experience from this bustling and charming city.

I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you had during your stay regarding our renovation. We have been working hard to minimize any impact on our guests to enable a positive experience.

It is only through your valuable comments that we can remain informed about our guest’s needs and feelings and that is the reason why my team and I will certainly work in areas that require improvements.

On behalf of us all, we hope this would not prevent us from the pleasure to welcome you again in the future.

Kindest regards,

The hotel is extremely well-located for several types of travellers. Cleaness and well-trained staff are two of its stronger points. There is not a great signal wi-fi network there, in some rooms, I mean. The breakfast is excellent and there is a lot of places to eat in the neighborhood.

Dear Mr. Tamboril,

Thank you for sharing your comments.

We are very happy to hearing from you and to know that you enjoyed the services provided by our staff members.

We apologize for any possible inconvenience you might have had during your stay as we struggle to deliver a high quality complimentary wi-fi internet to our guests, we have been working on the signal factor in some rooms in order to enable a high speed internet throughout the hotel.

It is great to learn that you enjoyed the full breakfast at Tarsila restaurant with tropical juices and a wide variety of fresh bread.

Have been coming to Sao Paulo for over 25 years and have stayed at this hotel almost exclusively during the past three years and do not consider any other hotel when staying in the city. The staff is always extremely friendly and always makes my wife and I feel welcome - as if coming home. From the door men to the reception desk to the concierge to the bellhop to the bartender to the VIP lounge attendants - they all treat us as family and over the years have gone the extra distance to help with any special needs. The location is perfect - very close to Av. Paulista but just far enough away to feel like a quiet neighborhood. Unlike the Grand Hyatt and Sheraton, the Intercon has many great restaurants and stores within walking distance or a short drive. Starbucks on the corner makes for a great start. The rooms are super comfortable and the wifi is strong in most areas. The VIP Lounge on the 20th floor is a great perk for a quiet breakfast and happy hour. The fitness center is very well equipped and the outdoor pool gets great sun. I know all of the major business hotels in Sao Paulo and consider this the best rooms, service and location.

Room Tip: Rooms facing both the front and the rear of the hotel have nice views but the front has trees and lo...

Been in SP several times lately and stayed in different hotels. The intercontinental is conveniently located in the heart of Jardins walking distance to nice restaurants and parks. The hotel is clean and the personal is very friendly, professional and cordial. I would have given the hotel 5 start if not for 2 reasons, the first is temporary one, the hotel is in the midst of renovations and noise could be annoying at times, the bigger issue is the Wifi. In some rooms the signal is so weak it's impossible to stay on line. in my case the only way I was able to get my work done was to sit by my room's door with the door open in order for me to conduct my business. The IT support is provided by a company in the Philippines and the hotel is essentially helpless. I will recommend the hotel as a place to stay in SP but if you are a business oriented visitor then ask the front desk which rooms have no signal, otherwise your stay might turn into a very frustrating business trip.

Room Tip: ask for high floor to avoid construction noise and ask which room have weak wifi

Hotels in São Paulo are rarely great value, and this one came out more expensive than I thought it would! Very good location On Almeida Santos. Currently undergoing renovation on a few flours, but I did not notice during my stay, except that I had to get someone to accompany me to the outside pool. Very good breakfast; attentive and friendly staff with good level of English spoken.

I Had the opportunity to stay at this hotel and the Service was excellent. Among all the staff that I interacted with, Maesta from the Front Desk ensured that my stay at the hotel was simply the best. He really knows how to provide good customer service and follow up requests accordingly. Im sure that he is truly an asset for the hotel.
On the other hand the hotel is very well located, secured and with great facilities.
