“great ambiance, good food”
Reviewed 11 August 2014

The draw to this restaurant is the giant tree that it's been built around. It's a classy place, fairly pricey but with good food. Had vegetarian options. They put appetizer platters on the table which are not included in the price, if you accept them they will charge you a price per person at the table so pay attention.

“Fantastic tree, good steaks, poor fish, poor service, pricey”
Reviewed 11 August 2014

You gotta go if for nothing else, to see the fig tree. It is massive and grows through holes in the roof and the walls. The floor is made of huge slabs of wood sliced from a large tree. The steaks were good, but really not special. My sea bass was awful and chewy with the consistency of lobster tail. Service was slower than a funeral procession, but this is Brazil on a Sunday where everything is slow. We paid about 150 reals each with no coffee, no appetizers, no wine, no desert, and one beer each. Entrees range from 100 reals to 250 ish for the nicer steaks. Recommendation...share a steak, they are huge. Avoid the fish.

“Awesome time here”
Reviewed 3 August 2014 via mobile

Just a great place. The wine list is lengthy and varied with some great examples of French and Portuguese wines. It is expensive but you only live once. Went on a situ day for brunch and was not disappointed. Will return. A memorable meal and unforgettable beverage list. Wine Spectator ranks it as one of the top restaurants for wine and food in São Paulo. Plus the rating on Trip Advisor is well deserved. A must go.

“I loved this place...”
Reviewed 19 July 2014 via mobile

A beautiful venue with a great bar area and a massive fig tree as it's centrepiece.

It's very popular so best to book a few days ahead.

Met some friends here and we waited in the bar for our table. The bartenders were very friendly and the service and cocktails were excellent.

By accident it turned out our table was the best in the house, slightly isolated from the other patrons because it was set between two large tree roots and it felt very private and kept especially for VIPs.

The food was amazing. A great share platter for entree. Nice wine. We shared the seafood treasure as a main between two and it was fantastic - I couldn't believe they even brought the dish out already split on two separate dishes! (I learnt that it's common in Brazil for many main courses to be big enough to share)

Really enjoyed it and would love to go again. We did have an issue with overcharging which was quickly resolved and accompanied by a lovely digestif by way of apology.

Definitely a place to go when in São Paulo.
