Owner description: Occupying the historic headquarters of Brazil's largest bank, the CCBB features an ever-changing program of art exhibitions, photography, theater, documentaries and feature films, and other engaging cultural manifestations. The building itself is a Baroque jewel, situated in the old financial district of São Paulo, and avant-garde events, such as a recent blaxploitation film retrospective, keep the CCBB on every hip Paulistano's cultural agenda.

“The Renaissance in São paulo”
Reviewed 30 May 2014

Renaissance paintings were exposed in the cultural center. It was a good opportunity for those who were unable to cross the ocean.

“Beautiful and democratic art exhibits”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

The CBCC is one of the most visited and democratic "museums" in the city and was the headquarter of the Brazilian Bank in Sao Paulo. In the past years, they have been hosting the most popular exhibits reaching every year visitation's records! The curators have been doing an amazing job with exhibits from the italian renaissance, paintings from the Orsay Museum in Paris, M. C. Escher, etc. ALL exhibits are for free and since they are so popular, the CBCC usually extends its opening hours on the weekends and sometimes on the weekdays. There is also a small movie theatre with interesting films.

The whole building is handicap accessible (including toilets) and there is a small cafeteria on the ground floor (with a couple of tables on the outside area). This is a charming spot that is definetly worth visiting!

“Beautiful Architecture & Excellent Expositions”
Reviewed 17 May 2014

The cultural center of Banco do Brasil is located in a beautiful restored historic building in down town Sao Paulo with world class expositions divided over 4-5 floors.
Although down town Sao Paulo does not have a good reputation, lately it improved a lot and there is a lot of police around to keep the streets safe. Also the government is doing a lot to keep the streets clean. So you will be safe.
It is advisable to check about the exposition that is going on, because it is always changing.
They can be funny with their openings hours, so also better checking.
It is one of those museums where the locals go a lot and not many tourists, as it is not very known. But it is a hidden gem in Sao Paulo for sure.

“Great architecture & art pieces”
Reviewed 14 May 2014

This is the third most popular museum in Brazil and I really enjoy the temporary exhibitions. In 2012, the Impressionists exhibition was open 24 hours to let all in. The architecture is beautiful. The place is located in the old downtown Sao Paulo, rich of local history. The Ibere Camargo exhibition (one of Brazil's most important painters) was fantastic. The building has 4 floors with places for art exhibitions, a cinema, a theater, a bookstore, etc. To get there the best option is public transportation - subway - as no cars are allowed in the region. But prefer daytime (not too safe at night).
