If you like history and you would like to see where the city started, then this place is mandatory. It doesn't take a long time to visit it and you can use the same day to see the surroundings.

You can buy cookies and bread baked by the monks, on site, and "blessed" by the monks. By the way, the baked goods I bought were really good and reasonably priced

Its a good visit if you are in SP and have time to spare, is downtown, steps away from 25 de Marco street and the Central Market, and close to Luz train station and Julio Prestes Teathre.(you can visit all in one day).
The problem here are the prices about the pastry delicatessen made from nuns (no costs there). An institution that not pay taxes shouldn ´t appear with prices like fancys patisseries.

One of the most beautiful church I have EVER visited. I received with my group a guided tour of the monastary by a monk. The passion and knowledge he had concerning the church was incredible and made the Church seem even more stunning. It is also a calm and beautiful place to pray.
