“5 Star stay in a boutique hotel !”
Reviewed 21 July 2013

I was very lucky to get a room here for one night last week. The staff gave me a great welcome and showed me to my room.

The room itself was spotlessly clean and had air conditioning.

The bed was very large and very comfortable with really nice quality pillows. I had a balcony with table and chairs with an amazing view looking over the black sea, it was really quite stunning. Also there was a well stocked mini bar in the fridge that included my favorite sparkling Perrier water!

The bathroom was large and had a shower and a bath. The pressure from the shower was excellent.

The hotel also had free wifi and the signal in my room at the top of the house was very good and enabled me to run my business back in the UK.

The breakfast was continental as you would expect, but with a huge choice of things to choose from, and if anything ran out, the staff were quick to replace it.

All in all an excellent place to stay with very helpful staff who could not do enough for me, I would strongly recommend this independent hotel to anyone planning a trip to Nessebar.

Room Tip: The are all great!

Perfect location in the center of old Nessebar. Many bars and restaurants around. The room (triple) was large and clean, beds were comfortable and we even had a great view to the Black Sea. Staff very nice and efficient. The hotel is in a good shape, everything is well organised.

Spent five nights here and had a very pleasant stay. The hotel is in an excellent location in Old Nessebar and is a great value. I got two sea-view rooms that both offered a great view of the Black Sea. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable and the staff was very helpful and accommodating. The only major problem I had was that the stopper in the shower would not open, but this was fixed the next day by the staff.

The restaurant mentioned in other reviews is indeed not associated with the hotel and we did not eat there. However, the hotel does have a small breakfast room on the bottom floor that offers a Bulgarian-style buffet breakfast, with meats, cheeses, and vegetables, and it probably has the only American-style black drip coffee in all of Nessebar. The breakfast was a very good price and the food was delicious.

I would definitely stay here again.

Absolutely lovely. Nice and clean hotel in a central position with a view on St. Stephen Church (well...Nessebar is really small...). Warm and polite staff, lovely rooms. Breakfast not included, it costs 5 euros plus and we suggest u to not reserve it : just bread to toast, packed jam and butter, sausages, ham and cheese not so good. U can choose a room with view on the sea (price of a double room: 80 lev= 40 euro) or without (60 lev= 30 euro) Other big hotels provide just rooms for 90 lev.

Thank you very much for your kind words.
Thank you for sharing your opinion about the breakfast too. I really appreciate it as it was very helpful for the hotel's management. Actually we have just made some changes in our breakfast policy and we do hope that our guests will like the breakfast more in the future.
We will keep working on providing better services.

Hotel is ok, but the restaurant and the people who serve in this location are awful. They try to steal every time, on bar or on the restaurant.
I will never come again in this location !
Nessebar is great old city and I'll come again but in another hotel and I'll eat in another restaurant, Dyonis (I hope remember the name right).

So, avoid St Stefan !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dear Guest,
Thank you for sharing your experience at our hotel.
I just wanted kindly to clarify that although restaurant St Stefan is situated in the buiding of the St Stefan hotel, it has nothing in common with it. The reasturant is managed by another company and it is absolutely separate bussiness.
It is very sad that actually most of the negative reviews of the hotel are in connection with the restaurant.
I do want to apologise for all the incovinience that the restaurant's services caused.
We really do our best to make our guests enjoy their stay in the beautiful Nessebar.

My memories are fresh, so I'll give it a review before they fade.

I stayed in the hotel for two nights only. March is still an off-season in Nessebar. The good thing: there are no crowds. You will find the whole history-blessed town at your disposal. You will admire its narrow streets, breathe a deliceous mixture of sea salt and the ambery smell of pine wood local people burn in their furnaces. The huge seagulls will schreak for you from rooftops. The whole scenery is very calm and relaxing. The town at night is a mistery - no one around...
Well, the not so good thing is... no tourist crowds. That means that most of the shops are closed, most of of the cafes - too, even the currency exchange does not work. Anyway, there are still some good tourist spots working, and they are all at your disposal as well.

The hotel is small, but very neat. The reception area was under renovation, as there were not too many guests in the hotel, and the staff was getting ready to a new season. Anyway, I checked-in in the afternoon, one hour later the furniture was moved so that there was enough space to move around comfortably, all the foil was removed from the furniture and there was no sign of any works. No smell of paint, no slightest disconvenience.
They say they will complete the works shortly, so probably they have finished that already, but please, check that. Oh, yes, the restaurant did not work either (but as i booked no catering, I did not need it). Again, it is going to open soon, they said.

I booked a room with a view on the church of St. Stephen. You may see it from the balcony, very-very close at hand. The sea view on the other side of the hotel may open from the last floor of the building, I guess, as there is another building standing in-between.
The room was lovely, really lovely. The whole hotel is immaculately clean, the room is no exception. It has everything you may need. The furniture is basic, but sufficneent. There are two iron chairs and a small table you may take to the balcony, it you want. The wood of the backs of the bed and shelves is carved in a good style - nothing superfluous, no excessive details. The bathroom is surgically clean, just shiningly clean, with every facility operating well.

The staff is very, highly friendly. There are nice to talk to, so if you want to get beyond the ordinary tourist information - welcome.

There is no such thing in the St. Stefan Boutique as being too far from the sea, or from the tourist attractions, or from the shops, or from night life of from whatsoever. It will take you only half an hour to walk around the peninsular, only a few minutes to get from one attractin to another, only several seconds to get to the nearest sea shore (which is all sea-shells instead of pebble), only 5 or 10 minutes to the two splendid restaurants still working all throught the winter. One more half an hour to get from the peninsular and back.

Off-season has its own marvels, it helps you relax and recharge your your batteries.

Room Tip: If you are after the sea view, choose the topmost seaview room, so that you are above the neighbouri...

The hotel is very chic and nice, lovely location, friendly staff, very clean, attention to details. The view from the rooms is fabulous, either to the sea or to the church. The hotel seems a bit off the crowds, yet in the middle of everything.

Bad experience with the restaurant too, rude waiter, no bill, overcharged double the price, so better avoid, no matter how tempted you are by its Mediterranean charm in the Balkans.

Room Tip: Rooms to the sea side are more peaceful and the view is lovely. Nice cats on the roof across.
