“Not much to see apart from a leaning tower”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 January 2013

It is a photo stop on a visit to Amarapura and Innwa on a horse buggy. Our guide told us it was unsafe to climb up as it is increasingly leaning over. It is a brick and rendered structure built in the 14th century as a gate to the city. It was damaged by an earthquake in the 19th century and has been further damaged by subsidence. Climb up if you are brave but not for us.

“Another great location to view the scenery from above”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 May 2012

Since I was doing the three cities tour (which typically includes Sagaing, Inwa, and Amarapura,) this was a prime spot for the horse and carriage that I took, to stop and take pictures.
The tower is leaning and honestly I was a little freaked out by the stairs on the way up. They are old although some of the stairs creaked, the whole structure seems rock solid.
The climb up is not too far but coming down I went down backwards so I didn't have to look down.
This place is also nice to just stop, sit at the top, and have a drink of water during the constant hot afternoon day.
Either way, if you're at Inwa visiting for the day, guarantee that your horse cart driver will probably bring you there. If not, just tell them you'd like to see the watch tower.
The view from the main floor is very relaxing as one will see mostly just a country farm like setting with green fields and white topped stupas peaking out from behind the trees. It's a nice place to stop and see though. (One CAN go all the way to the very top but I guess I just didn't have the guts to go any further).
* Once again like Mandalay Hill, there was a vendor selling drinks for those that are thirsty for a refreshing drink in the heat of the day.

The tower lies between the rod to Innwa so we stopped by. It is very old but the stairs are safe enough to climb up to the top. It’s very beautiful when standing on the top of it and have a paranomic view to the area around which is mostly nature. And we visited on our way back in the evening so the weather was more pleasant and windy up there.
