We stayed three nights in a hotel room with ensuite bath in the older building. We were told the room was part of a new addition to that building. Our room had a king size bed and a twin bed with a very small balcony on the side.
Breakast was served in the new building and the food adequate. Be sure to go early as there is a bit of a feeding frenzy among the Trekkers and if you go towards the end of the breakfast hours they may be out of some items. Soup was especially good.
My main problem concerned the noise for several hours in the evening for two of the three nights we were there. Our room faced a Buddhist temple about a block away. Apparently they were having a special monk visiting and he managed to talk for three hours straight...very loudly. the speakers faced in our direction as well as towards the Main Street . The hotel staff said this happens upon occasion. Staff in general were very helpful.
Arrangements can be made at the hotel for trekking. There is also a clinic adjacent to the property. Mr. Charles has it all except decent wifi. Like most of Myanmar wifi was iffy.
Be sure to visit the Shan palace to hear a fascinating bit of history.More
