We spent two nights thoroughly enjoyed the accommodation and layout and the view,
We where fortunate to be able to pick up WIFi in the room as we where not to far away from the main building.
Sevice by the staff Excellant , good Ala Carte menu in the dining room for dinner if one does not want the buffet , great breakfast.
Great bar decor lots of atmosphere just comment excellent French Winery at Inle lake it is unfortunate most establishments are marking it up to high.
Not really any difference with accommodation prices rising quickly with the shortage of space, not likely to change and until the hotel zone is built could be while as it is just a scar on the hill.

It appears that your views of this hotel depend where in part your room is. Ours was not good, it was dark, musty and we had to request that a soiled bedspread was replaced, friends had to be moved due to their room being infested with ants. The room generally was not particularly clean and compared to the level of service that we had elsewhere in Myanmar this hotel was not exceptional. The food was very good and well presented, the puddings were the best we had in2 weeks travelling. Drinks were expensive we paid even more than Yangon and you are isolated in the evening although you can go out the back gate to the local village where drinks are a quarter of the hotel prices.

Dear Warks,

Please do receive our sincere apologies regarding the bedspread. I had checked all of them myself after reading your comments, and the incriminated ones had been replaced, again sorry about that.

Regarding the ants, please do understand that being a resort in the middle of the nature could from time to time unfortunately bring some little inconvenient like this one.

For the room darkness, following your remark, our gardener team has started to trim the branches around the villa, which will bring more light in the room.

Thanks again for your comments and be certain that we do appreciate and that we are always working to improve the hotel standards.

With my Best Regards,

Bruno

We stayed as part of a group spending three nights exploring the Inle Lake area, and loved everything about Inle Resort. We stayed in a Garden Cottage which was roomy, well equipped, and had a little terrace with views over a small pond surrounded by colourful poinsettia bushes.

Everything is well run; the manager is a French gentleman who is friendly and personable and keen to make himself known to guests. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of our evening meals - they were well cooked, superbly presented and just delicious. The dining room is very large, but I found the lighting so attractive (handmade Shan paper lamps and pendent lights) and it had a good ambience. The Mingalar Bar was a cosy place to sit and chat with a post-dinner drink.

Breakfast was good, and I particularly liked the warming cabinet for the croissants and pastries - it makes such a difference. I found the tea/coffee cups ridiculously small and would have liked a mug for my morning tea (this was a common gripe in most of the hotels we stayed at). The egg chefs did a good job.

Our bed and pillows were comfortable and we slept well. We didn't run the aircon at night as we found it cooler at Inle Lake than in Yangon, Mandalay and Bagan so were quite comfortable without it. We had no problems with bugs - housekeeping sent round a couple of people each night to spray the room against mozzies and this seemed to work very well (the spray didn't smell bad either - hardly noticeable).

I'd certainly stay here again, but would splash out a bit next time - if the Garden Cottage is an 'ordinary' room, a Royal Villa would be amazing!

Dear Guests,

Thanks a lot for your very nice comments about our resort, it is for my staff and me such a pleasure to see that you enjoyed your stay with us.
Thanks also for reminding us about the breakfast coffee cup size, we are doing our best to guet some bigger size as soon as possible.
Your remark regarding the muesli has been taken into account and we had ordered some already and it will be available on our buffet at the earliest.
We do hope to see you again if you visit Myanmar at any other time.
Cordially,
Bruno

Perhaps we had a better experience than some people, judging from the other reviews,as we had booked a Royal Villa on the lakefront. We loved the room design, with its intricate woodwork and interesting old pieces of furniture. Yes, it is a little dark because the wood is dark, but that is a welcome change from the bright sun outside, and is very cooling.
The staff were charming and very helpful, always being prepared to come to the room and help you do things, even if we were being a little stupid! ( the heat and travel is very draining!)
The spa was excellent, with a lovely ambience, and music( which was missing in other Myanmar spas)
Dinner food was good, with efficient service. breakfasts were less good for Europeans compared with some other hotels in Myanmar- eg no muesli, and not much choice of fruit and breads.
There's no gym, but it is possible to exercise by jogging round the resort paths, which wind around various ponds and across bridges.
No BBC world on TV, unlike other hotels.
Virtually no internet service to speak of.
Some pettiness about charging for a broken glass in the room- I have never been charged for a broken glass before!

We have just stayed 2 nights here whilst going on excursions, and it is in a beautiful position at the edge of the lake.

Unfortunately the peace and calm of the surroundings was shattered by a loud, brash group of older Americans who managed to be effortlessly rude to the staff and annoying to everyone else. Not the hotel's fault though!

There is presumably a problem with bugs, though we were bitten elsewhere in Burma but not here. The staff do a good job of spraying the rooms early evenings.

Breakfast is good, and taken outdoors, and the staff were friendly, meekly accepting their bullying by the Americans.

On our arrival to the resort by boat,(not sure there is any other way), we had a warm welcome and were shown to our new rooms on the water. Certainly not the insects we had anticipated, The place suited us perfectly, perhaps a swimming pool to cool down at the end of the day would have been perfection. Included is a buffet breakfast which was more than adequate but have certainly had better. Guests are fairly captive to the resort for dinner which was fine, not sure I would splash out $40 for the local wine. Myanmar not quite the perfect appellation! a few comments, laundry was a lot more expensive than we had found elsewhere in Myanmar, why? also why do hotels charge $7 a minute for international calls? when will Myanmar hotels start using VOIP?

Room Tip: the rooms over the water to the right of the hotel as you approach are the best, on the left hand si...
