It's very rare to see a hotel manager being so close to the guests and concerned about their experience at the hotel. This really made us feel "special" :)

The staff is well trained and provided great service. The restaurant is good, even though expensive, but that's what one would expect from a resort.

The best part were sunsets at the bar balcony sipping a well prepared gin and tonic.

The setting of this resort is magical, bang on inle lake yet not too far from the town. Very easy to do tours on the lake from here and the hotel is able to arrange a decent variety of tours. The best rooms by far are the royal villas - huge windows overlooking the lake and a lovely deck to watch sunset from. We did have some problems with the towel rack and tap handle falling off so dont expect super luxury but the rooms are more than functional. Note that dining options are limited (there is one restaurant with fairly average food) and food at the resort is fairly expensive.

My hubby and I booked this hotel by calling and sending them an email. We had just finished our trek from kalaw and took a boat to the hotel. It was about 30 mins boat ride and we were dropped off at the entrance to the reception. You can pay directly at the counter and we paid in USDs (Make sure your USDs are the new ones and crisp).

We booked the garden cottage for 2 nights: the rooms are clean and comfortable and for couples, it's quite romantic especially in the mornings and the evenings when the sun goes orange and the days gets a little cold (December is a cold time in Myanmar). The breakfast spread is really quite good and the only thing that is a little issue is the traveling to town - you can go by taxi, toe toe (motorized transport) or boat: the taxi is really expensive so we went by toe toe (btw, we took down the number of the toe toe driver that drove the fastest and used him and his brother as much as possible as he is fast and safe even at night).

Though the hotel is beautiful and lovely, I do recommend staying in town - you can arrange your boat trips on the lake, your treks to kalaw and travelling to other parts of Myanmar with ease.

Having said that though, I was really happy staying at the hotel. The staff are friendly and very helpful. It is also at the edge of the lake itself and thus the sunrise and sunsets are beautiful. Was a nice way to rest after my trek from kalaw.

One night here at the end of a tour of Myanmar, but would have liked to spend more time in this hotel. We had a chalet set a little way back from the lake but still with a great view. A lovely veranda, large bedroom with a separate lounge, bathroom with a separate loo and two hand basins. Good aircon, safe, toiletries and tea/coffee making facilities but don't rely too heavily on the Wi-Fi! Staff visit every room at dusk to check that the shutters on the windows are closed, arrange the mosquito nets round the beds and spray the room with repellent. We also had a plug-in with a tablet to be on the safe side and used Deet spray in the evening. There is a small bar and a large dining room; the food was delicious and locally sourced, as explained to us by the Manager. A good buffet was served at breakfast with tables set out on the large veranda outside the dining room. A further 9 hotels are planned to be built on the edge of the lake so go soon before it gets too crowded.

We spent two nights thoroughly enjoyed the accommodation and layout and the view,
We where fortunate to be able to pick up WIFi in the room as we where not to far away from the main building.
Sevice by the staff Excellant , good Ala Carte menu in the dining room for dinner if one does not want the buffet , great breakfast.
Great bar decor lots of atmosphere just comment excellent French Winery at Inle lake it is unfortunate most establishments are marking it up to high.
Not really any difference with accommodation prices rising quickly with the shortage of space, not likely to change and until the hotel zone is built could be while as it is just a scar on the hill.

It appears that your views of this hotel depend where in part your room is. Ours was not good, it was dark, musty and we had to request that a soiled bedspread was replaced, friends had to be moved due to their room being infested with ants. The room generally was not particularly clean and compared to the level of service that we had elsewhere in Myanmar this hotel was not exceptional. The food was very good and well presented, the puddings were the best we had in2 weeks travelling. Drinks were expensive we paid even more than Yangon and you are isolated in the evening although you can go out the back gate to the local village where drinks are a quarter of the hotel prices.

Dear Warks,

Please do receive our sincere apologies regarding the bedspread. I had checked all of them myself after reading your comments, and the incriminated ones had been replaced, again sorry about that.

Regarding the ants, please do understand that being a resort in the middle of the nature could from time to time unfortunately bring some little inconvenient like this one.

For the room darkness, following your remark, our gardener team has started to trim the branches around the villa, which will bring more light in the room.

Thanks again for your comments and be certain that we do appreciate and that we are always working to improve the hotel standards.

With my Best Regards,

Bruno

We stayed as part of a group spending three nights exploring the Inle Lake area, and loved everything about Inle Resort. We stayed in a Garden Cottage which was roomy, well equipped, and had a little terrace with views over a small pond surrounded by colourful poinsettia bushes.

Everything is well run; the manager is a French gentleman who is friendly and personable and keen to make himself known to guests. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of our evening meals - they were well cooked, superbly presented and just delicious. The dining room is very large, but I found the lighting so attractive (handmade Shan paper lamps and pendent lights) and it had a good ambience. The Mingalar Bar was a cosy place to sit and chat with a post-dinner drink.

Breakfast was good, and I particularly liked the warming cabinet for the croissants and pastries - it makes such a difference. I found the tea/coffee cups ridiculously small and would have liked a mug for my morning tea (this was a common gripe in most of the hotels we stayed at). The egg chefs did a good job.

Our bed and pillows were comfortable and we slept well. We didn't run the aircon at night as we found it cooler at Inle Lake than in Yangon, Mandalay and Bagan so were quite comfortable without it. We had no problems with bugs - housekeeping sent round a couple of people each night to spray the room against mozzies and this seemed to work very well (the spray didn't smell bad either - hardly noticeable).

I'd certainly stay here again, but would splash out a bit next time - if the Garden Cottage is an 'ordinary' room, a Royal Villa would be amazing!

Dear Guests,

Thanks a lot for your very nice comments about our resort, it is for my staff and me such a pleasure to see that you enjoyed your stay with us.
Thanks also for reminding us about the breakfast coffee cup size, we are doing our best to guet some bigger size as soon as possible.
Your remark regarding the muesli has been taken into account and we had ordered some already and it will be available on our buffet at the earliest.
We do hope to see you again if you visit Myanmar at any other time.
Cordially,
Bruno
