The Inthar Heritage House is a brilliant philanthropist creation.

The Burmese cats at the cattery are all well looked after with healthy coats and plenty of cuddles. We were allowed in to mingle with them which was a lovely experience.

Following that we went upstairs to the restaurant and ate the food. The butterfish and pork curries we got were both exceptional. Right up there with the best food I had in Burma along with the Pork Mango curry from Green Chilli in Nyaung Shwe.

The philanthropist has setup an art gallery to help local aspiring artists, and there are also schooling areas you can look around.

There are free books you can read at the restaurant along with the owner's story of how he created the Heritage House and sought about sourcing all the various products to make a traditional Inthar product.

I strongly recommend making this a mandatory visit on your Inle Lake tour. You won't regret it. Spend some money there and support a good cause, as there are plenty of positive community initiatives being led from this premises.

We loved the location, we were able to eat on the balcony which overlooks one of the canals from the lake. Food here is excellent, we wish we could have returned. The Burmese cats are also great to visit!

We had great food here, fried fish and other local food. Very tasty and good. The beer nice and cold and the local tea delicious.
Downstairs you can see the burmese cats. They have their own island!!
insist on going here this was one of the best restaurants in Birma we visited.

This restaurant is in the middle of Lake Inle and we had lunch there on the back deck on a lovely sunny January day. The food was extremely good and the restaurant is supported by the local tourism and guides association and help train young locals in the area of hospitality. Visiting the Burmese cats on their custom built island was a treat.

We stopped here on a day tour and absolutely loved it. You can eat simple Myanmar cuisine with a beautiful view across the villages and lake. The Shan tea with sesame is very good, as is the tea salad. There is an art exhibit held there from a local artist, and we were very keen in purchasing a painting, but they didn't accept credit card and we didn't have enough USD...
