“The best stay of our 3 week trip”
Reviewed 16 February 2012

We can't say enough good things about this resort. We used it as a base for touring, not a spa-stay, and it was perfect! Our room, a cool and very spacious room w. sitting area and large balcony, had a lovely view over-looking the lake and the wonderfully landscaped grounds. It was elegantly and comfortably appointed with a very comfortable platform bed and a large, elegant bath. We had a short walk to the main facilities and their really superb dining and bar areas. The food was outstanding for all meals--breakfast was especially so, with a broad range of options available. The service was extremely warm and personal--a cut above the best. We also used the spa for a couple of massages and can highly recommend them as a way to unwind after a day "on the road". Our whole stay in this wonderful place was nothing but a series of wonderful experiences.

This small resort of just 38 rooms is connected to the lake by a canal and overlooks the lake and beyond from its elevated perch. It has the benefit of not having the noisy boats race past it all the time, and with its gorgeous garden setting it is very peaceful and a treat to stay at.
The rooms are well appointed, with comfortable beds, cable tv, safe, minibar and bathrooms with shower and bath. The staff is very well trained throughout the resort, from gardeners to wait staff and room attendants. Front desk staff was extremely helpful and competent in planning lake visits and changing domestic flights for us.
The hotel's restaurant serves the best food on the lake, without a doubt. We read another review from a frequent Inle visitor raving about the food here, which is why we chose this hotel, and we were not disappointed. It is excellent. The breads and pastries are superb, all other food is well presented and prepared and most importantly, delicious.
For us this is the only place to stay on Lake Inle from now on.

Room Tip: We stayed on the second floor, where you'll have a great view overlooking the lake and hotel gro...

We stayed at ILVR for 2 nights in February 2012, in deluxe room with lake view. The location is excellent, with beautiful surroundings. There is direct access to the lake, the hotel has own pier. It is a butique hotel, so the Lotus Bar, restaurant and SPA area are not spacious, but everything has been very tastefully arranged. The staff was friendly and attentive. The food choice in the restaurant was limited, yet it was delicious. Our room was beautifully arranged, modern with a rustic charm, so was our bathroom. There was a peaceful atmosphere in the whole resort,, we truly relaxed during our stay. Should we visit Inly Lake again, we will definitely vstay at ILVR.

just coming back from Inle lake. He have been 2 nights in this hotel..Lake side villa & delux room.
The location of the hotel is great, about 100m away from the lake, connected with a boat-chanel. The Lake side villas are just near the boat landing stage, the other rooms a bit above with a beautiful view over the lake.
The trip from Heho by minibus was about 1 hour.At the arrival we were very welcomed with a drink & cold cleaning towel. Short reception-time. The rooms are very clean, have a really fine and many handpicked equipments. Great bathroom with rain shower and garden bath tube in the Villa. The beds are excellent.
Everything is really maintained correct to a dot and makes a very warm living in this hotel. The staff is well trained, very attentive and nice. The food is excellent, international food and burmese food is available as well as a fine wine list. You will enjoy in the less warm january funny, but well working heatings at your side.
The hotel has shown a performance in hospitality we could not find in many 5-stars. You will feel the hands of a dedicated manager with a will to satisfy the guest demands.

specials:
1) a pool will soon coming
2) the resort has a boat to rent with a driver. Probably better to make a reservation bevor arrival. The driver brings you to every place on the lake.
3) There is internet access, a bit slow as usual in Myanmar
4) you can make only one mistake: to stay to short at this place... smile

I will go back to this resort and stay perhaps a week, making excursions to the many interesting places, enjoy a fantastic countryside, read books...

Room Tip: Delux rooms 2.floor, there is a better view over the lake Lake side villas are very privat with gar...

After several trips to Inle Lake, this botique resort (38 rooms) consistently achieves high marks across the board. Now in its eleventh year, the resort has the lead for hotels on the lake and is a strong contender for BUrma's (Myanmar's) top boutique hotel. The experienced Burmese staff and expatriate manager provide superb service, and the lodge's skilled chef and restaurant staff serve an amazing array of western and asian dishes -- complemented by homemade bakery items and desserts such as crème bule and chocolate mousse -- and all served fresh and at the table. It's best to spend at least two or three days here, and take in the tranquility and beauty of the lake and the the Intha people who have lived on it for centuries. Burmese-owned and designed, this resort appears built with maximum use of local materials and minimal disturbance of the lake's enviornment. The care that the resport's magnement puts into its smooth operation were seen in attention to details, such as the cold towels awaiting us upon return from a day's boat trip and the delivered coffee wake-up service. The lodge's general manager shows experience and grace in providing just enough of personal attention without being intrusive. Despite its remote location, hot water, electricity, and a fine selection of wines were in steady supply. For a particularly special experience, consider booking the Hintha and Peacock villas, which are closest to the water, very private, and show outstanding design and touches, such as a spacious bathroom with rain shower and garden bathtub.

Room Tip: You may want to book the upper floor (vice first floor) of the deluxe rooms for a superior, balcony...

My wife and I stayed three nights at the Lake View in November, 2011 and found it to be a wonderful place to stay. The grounds of the resort are beautifully landscaped and meticulously maintained, blending in perfectly with the surrounding landscape. Our room was very spacious and comfortable; modern bathroom, firm king bed crowned with an atmospheric mosquito net (we didn't use it), beautiful teak floors, a very high ceiling and large balcony with great views over the lake. The staff was very friendly and accomodating without exception, making us feel most welcome. A well run restaurant with very good food and excellent service. My only complaint would be the lack of a pool, which would have been nice to return to after a long day on the lake. Even so, the Lake View is highly recommended and we would gladly return again.

Room Tip: the property slopes down a hill towards the lake - the top floor on the main level provides the best...

you enter and you leave by boat. You live at the rythme of the lake. If you don't walk around the village around the hotel you would feel alone in the wilderness. The service is of high quality, and the food is very good. The only regret is not having tried the local restaurant in the village... an alternative to tourist garstrofood !
Oh ! and be sure to pack mosquito sprays for the trip... enven though the hotel is very well equiped !
