“Upscale Relaxing Destination”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 September 2013

I stayed with a friend in a suite and it was such a relaxing place to be, so refreshing compared to the business of Yangon! It was a very welcoming place and we ate dinner here both nights and greatly enjoyed it, a real bonus if you are really into food and wine. There are less expensive options on the main road, but none come close to the hotel's quality of food in my opinion. The breakfast was amazing too, more western focused, which was ok with me :) The suite had a separate sitting area with a couch and the bedroom was spacious enough, works well for two people. It was in the 80s/90s when we were there, but it cooled off enough at night to make the lack of central air con manageable. (There is a cooling unit in the bedroom). Kudos to them for being so eco friendly, which is very rare in this part of the world from what I have seen...We did not mind that it was not on the lake, there is enough atmosphere being over the water on the lagoon and I think it actually may have been better vs. the noise of the boats on the lake during the night, etc. Definitely recommend checking this place out, it was the best hotel experience in Myanmar during our nine day stay!

The accommodation here was ideal for us, and very relaxing. Note that Nyaungshwe is a significant town, but is not on the main lake - the lodge itself sits on a large pond connected to the river that connects to the lake (it is actually about 15 minutes by long-boat to reach the lake itself, and another 30 or so to cross it). The accommodation is all on stilts, and is very well designed and constructed with an eye to detail. The restaurant is probably one of the pricier options, but is actually very good and worth it for one night; the breakfasts were amazing.

During our visit in Myanmar we had a very nice stay at this Lodge. Rooms on the water, a magical athmosphere in evenings and very fast to the boat in the morning. Food is prepared very healthy and glamorus, every morning a different "boat" of special personal buffet. Coffee comes from an espresso machine and in the evening we had dinner on the terrasse or tapas with a glass of wine or a drink. Service is good and not overdone which we prefer. We had a massage after the boat trip two young ladies in our room worked like angels on our bodies! A special place for special people.

After a mixed range of accommodation around Myanmar, this was a real highlight and great value for money. The staff were extremely warm, friendly and helpful as was the manager Maurice. The rooms are delightful, well designed, spacious and super comfortable. The bed was divine!
Breakfasts were sensational; the best we have had anywhere and enough to keep us going all day.
We liked the fact that the place was built with an environmental conscience using eco friendly natural materials and that there was no air con, just an evaporative cooling system.
The view from our room was really pretty and tranquil.
We also had a delicious meal at the reataurant, amazing service and great views.
Highly recommend a stay at this unique place.

After doing an all-budget trip to Myanmar we decided to spring for this nice hotel in the middle of our trip and it was well worth the money. First off the rooms are beautiful - very nicely designed with a gorgeous bathroom and separate living area. You have views of the river all around you. I only wish they would put in screens - we wanted to open up the windows but didn't want a room full of mosquitoes so we left them closed except for the one random window that did have a screen.

Service was great, as we came to expect in Myanmar. The only negative was that we wished we hadn't booked our boat trip through the hotel. The trip was really fun but our guys didn't speak any English - for the price we paid we expected more of a real tour with a guide who could tell us about the local attractions.

The restaurant was REALLY impressive. First off, the space is just beautiful. A big open-air room with iron chandeliers overlooking the river. This place is French-owned, and the european bread and butter you get at breakfast is a real treat if you're a westerner sick of the weird "butter" they serve in Myanmar. As others have mentioned, the breakfast is just incredibly impressive overall and not to be missed.

We were also really happy that we went to the restaurant for dinner - we were quite surprised to find a vegetarian tasting menu which let us sample a bunch of different local dishes (with a bit of a European twist). The food was super tasty and the atmosphere was great.

The only reason I wouldn't stay longer is that the town itself was one of our least favorite in Myanmar - the local people were much less friendly than other places, and aside from the boat tour around the lake there isn't a ton to see.

Stayed for 2 nights as we viewed Inle lake. The lodge is a lodge. No AC in the rooms and thus on a hot day or night you will not be comfortable. Rooms are spacious within the lodge and beds have the netting you need. Restaurant is outstanding and is most likely the best in Nyaungshwe. Very little to see within the city but the hotel provides a viepoint for the traffic that passes under the bridge and through the canal. overall we had mild temps and it worked out but again if it is hot be careful....

Situated just over the bridge on a canal in Nyaungshwe our first impressions of this establishment from the outside were a little so-so.
How wrong could one be!
View Point Lodge is truly a gem.
Our room was on a quiet canal with a veranda overlooking lush vegetation.A massive, extremely
comfortable bed, lovely bathroom and livingroom with day bed ,sofa, cable TV and excellent fixtures
far exceeded our expectations.
The ground floor well equipped bar(ably managed by the genial Saw Aung)was an ideal spot for an evening drink.
The upstairs restaurant offered views towards the distant mountains, township and canal leading to the lake.
Breakfast was a most innovative assembly of delicious items served on a long wooden platter.
Dinner was a superb,Swiss/French inspired list of excellent dishes.
This place is a real find.
Thanks for your hospitality.
