“Very nice little hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 October 2013

I moved to this place from Inle Lake because I wanted to be more central in Nyaungshwe. I wasn't disappointed, the new standart room was clean, the breakfast was simple but delicious and the familiy who owns this place was very friendly and service orientated. They also own Bungalows which I heard are slightly more convenient. The only negative point was the new room transmitted noise easliy from the rooms next door so room isolation was little. Therefore the bungalows might be better. In any case I would stay there again as price/value is excellent, the owners are very friendly and the Hotel is clean and very centrally located. I can very much recommend this small hotel.

Just left princess gardens today after spending 5 nights there at the end if a 3 week Myanmar adventure. We found it to be peaceful, loved the swimming pool , enjoyed the breakfasts and lovely juices brought to us each afternoon.. We booked a friend of the manager, Jo Su, who has a boat and spent 3 mornings on inle lake exploring. The highlight was a visit to his house and meeting his family.
Thoroughly recommend this place... Not luxury but very pleasant, friendly and clean

We spent four nights here and felt a bit of a part of the village. The bungalows were clean and comfortable and set in pretty gardens. Sitting on the porch of the bungalow watching village life pass by in the distance was a joy. There is a very nice swimming pool in which to cool down. This place is quiet. What sounds you here are natural, like crickets, frogs, birds and some local laughter. Each afternoon when we returned from hiking, biking or cruising on Inle Lake, someone from the hotel met us with a cold glass of some freshly made tropical juice. It was such a pleasant touch. We met a number of people who were staying on the lake and most felt isolated up there. And they were paying a lot more. From the hotel to the canal leading to the lake is maybe a 10 minute walk at best. You could play on the lake all day then return to the village and have many dining opportunities. Not stuck with the same resort dining room every night. This place has bikes you can take for free and wheel through village after village which is a great way to see things. The owner is quite knowledgeable and has made good maps of treks to nearby mountain villages and bike rides through the forests. He is friendly, excellent English and does his best to make you feel at home. We loved this hotel.

We stayed 4 nights at the Princess Garden hotel, and we decided to stay at a standard room, which was 35$ a night. (bungalows were 45$) The rooms are recently build in a row near the entrance of Princess Garden, and facing the swimmingpool. Each of the 7 rooms has its own porch with 2 chairs. Inside the spacy room you'll find a big double bed, a standing fan, a table with a fridge, and a separate real big bathroom. The bathroom is spacy and has a toilet, a washbassin with amenities, and a good shower. The shower is equipped with a rainshower but there is not enough water pressure to make it work, so we used the other, normal showerhead.
When you arrive, you will be welcomed with a fruitjuice. Every day, after sightseeing the girls will bring you a big glass of cold lemon juice, witch is a nice gesture.
Breakfast is included in the price and is very good! It's served in the upstairs open air restaurant with views over the ricefields nearby and on the pool. The breakfast consists of a pancake (every day another taste), coffe/thee and juice, fresh fruits and toast and eggs of your choice. It's just nice to sit there and watch the daily life near the canal.
The swimming pool is cool! Just what you need after a day of sighseeing! The daybeds were broken but Mr Ko Aung told us that he ordered new ones which were in production already.
The friendly owners make this hotel a place like no other places. A place where you will be welcomed like an old friend. Mr Ko Aung is a big source of information about all kinds of subjects. We had nice chitchats all the time. And he was very caring too when we all turned to be ill for some days......
Princess Garden has some friendly dogs on it's grounds but that is no problem. The only this that is missing is the wifi. And okay, just one other point that can be improved: if you use a room or bungalow for single use you still have to pay the full amount, I think they should lower the price for single use somewhat. And the rooms are also big enough in our opinion to place an extra bed, if travelling with 1 child just a we did. Extra beds or triples are non-existing in this place, so we had to take 2 doubles for full amount. We talked about it with Mr Ko Aung but we seem to have a diffrent meaning about this subject.
The location, well we loved it! Very quiet at the end of the village near a small canal. If you rent a bike, you are in the village within 3 minits. The garden is very lush and tropical, which we loved. There are so many diffrent plants and beatiful flowers like orchids.

Thumbs up for Princess Garden ! If we ever come again to Nyaungshwe, we will sure return to this great spot! We'd chosen it for its pool, but exceed our expectations for rooms and for the breakfast and for the wonderfull way that it is managed and the kind staff! 100% recommended!

Room Tip: We choose the standard rooms which have everything that you need! No need to book a bungalow, save t...

My wife and I stayed here for 1 night. We would have stayed longer, as we liked the hotel and the manager is really friendly and helpful, he does a lot of charity work for orphanages and poor villages in the area and advised us on the different orphanages in the area (upon our request, as we had read about his work on a blog).
Our beautiful poolside bungalow was $48 per night, which we found too expensive considering there was no AC or wi fi, I also preferred to be closer to the action, which led us to moving to the Queen Inn by the canal.

After spending two nights at the more basic Little Inn, I decided to upgrade to the Princess Garden Hotel. The pool and surrounding garden area provide a welcome area to relax in. The owner was friendly and provided good recommendations of things to do. He also helped reconfirm my plane ticket. The rooms were nice and clean, however, they were also very hot. Luckily, it rained in the afternoon and thus, I was able to get the temperature down to a more reasonable level by running the fan and keeping the door open. Otherwise, it might have been an unpleasant night. Mosquitoes can also be a problem in the rooms, due to the garden. I only had to kill two mosquitoes, but the squashed remains of others all over the walls suggests that they can be a problem. On the whole, however, I do recommend the hotel, even though it is also a little farther away from town.

A very nice hotel on the edge of town. The hotel has several bungalows with a few more being constructed and a block of rooms. The bungalows are set in beautiful gardens and there is also a large well kept pool, though the sun lounges have seen better days. The bungalows are lovely with woven bamboo walls, lots of windows, spacious and a nice bathroom. The have a small verandah with chairs and table facing the garden. The rooms have a fridge, fan, reading lights and are clean and serviced daily by a wonderful group of friendly girls. The beds and bedding are good. The breakfast which is served in a large open restaurant upstairs is very good and generous. The hotel is close to the Green Chilli Restaurant ( highly recommended) and a short walk from anywhere in town. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: All bungalows are in a garden setting and are lovely. Some have a view over the road which can be a...
