“Amazing little place”
Reviewed 18 August 2014

The owner here is very friendly. He will chat to you and offer advice.
The buses from Mandalay arrive here at horrid hours from 3-6 am.
So we got here at about 4 am from memory and our room had guest in it. We should of really booked an early night would be sensible.

However they where very kind and let us into the reception area. And my mate and I made do with some seat cushions and our backpacks to try sleep till morning. There are some shower by the pool to use thankfully, Until check in time.

The wifi is just a pocket wifi system so its not very good but thats all they can get in this location. But lots of restaurant in the main town area have free wifi so this is not a huge issue.

Breakfast up on the second floor of the pavillion is just lovely. Views and the fresh morning air.

And the BEST Pancakes, banana with chocolate. I asked if I could just have two instead of the other things from breakfast on our last day as they are so good and she was able to make extra they were that good!

They have a few dogs here. Two big ones and two little ones. The little ones are not friendly do not pat them. But the bigger dogs are nice. Being an animal lover I was playing with them and he would sit on the seat outside my bungalow and wait for me to come out again. The little bungalows are nice. They are trying to build some more as this place is often full. They are a little dated and the owner said he is saving up for low season to fix them up as bit. Water pressure was pretty low, but we survived.

Would stay here again. Nice big pool. Quiet location and Great gardens.

Room Tip: Choose the Bungalow over another room if you can. They are very cute.

We really enjoyed our four night stay here in a big, spotless and comfortable cabin. The service was friendly and excellent. We enjoyed good breakfasts each morning outdoors. Wifi was typical for Myanmar - intermittent at best and often no signal. Unfortunately, we arrived about 4am on overnight bus from Bagan and staff didn't want to wake owner to see if it was okay for us to check into a cabin or room early. They provided us with blankets to sleep in lobby area. The owner apologized profusely when he saw us a little later and he immediately showed us to a room where we could sleep, for a nominal fee, until our cabin was ready.

Nice hotel with lovely grounds and a decent pool, which we sadly didn’t get to use as it was far too chilly. The bungalows are set around the garden and while ok, we would probably suggest they are a little overpriced at $45 / night for what you get. Rooms are compact wooden bungalows, basically furnished, with a fairly comfortable bed and fridge. Floors were slightly cracked so you could see through to the ground in places, and the bathroom was functional but very basic. As it was cold at night the blankets were a must – no need for A/C here!! Wifi didn't work at all for the few days we were here.

Breakfast was served upstairs in an open restaurant with pleasant views of the local area. Brekkie was also delicious and filling (fruit, pancake, eggs and toast and decent coffee).

Hotel staff were friendly and helpful, although we didn’t get the five star treatment some seem to have received with drinks and snacks brought to our balcony. Didn’t really see much of the owners and had very little interaction with them. That said, Ko Aung was very very professional with the booking via email and we felt we had good communication in the lead up to our stay.

Two of the house dogs were very friendly (one black and one tan), while I’d suggest staying clear of the white fluffy dogs.

Location is just on the edge of town along a canal, so around 10-15 minutes walk from the centre. We walked in one night but mostly just ate at the nearby Green Chilli restaurant which was excellent. There’s also a great little travel agent on the corner as you head to Green Chilli, we used them for a couple of side trips and bike hire and found them to be excellent. Rates were 25,000 to the airport, 45,000 for a full day boat to Sankar and most of lake sites, 18,000 for a boat trip to Inthein (return), and 45,000 for a day trip to Kakku.

This was definitely our favorite place we've stayed so far! The owners and staff are delightful and attentive, room is comfortable and clean, pool is a great area to relax during the day. Breakfast is tasty as having it included makes the hotel an even better deal! As a side note, we ate Shan noodle soup/salad for lunch every day in the market at one of the stalls- can't beat $0.50/bowl! Perfect when you're on a budget.

A hidden gem just at the edge of Nyaungshwe.
It is a fishing village with a lot of restaurants and bars therefore it is best to stay there if you want evening activities (many luxurious hotels on the lake are far from everything).
The hotel is at walking distance from the centre of the town but still far enough so it is very quiet at night.
The owners and their staff were very kind and friendly. They gave us great advice about the area and how best to see it (boat, bike, walking).
We had 3 rooms that were next to the pool with ensuite bathrooms (40$/night) which was great value for money. The rooms were very simple and clean even if a bit cold at night as we were there in January and the days are warm but the nights are cool.
It also has a swimming pool that is very pleasant and quite unusual in the area.
Breakfast was very good and plentiful.
There is wifi in the reception area but not in the rooms.
This place is really a gem both for service and quality/price. It might be nice to book one night in one of the luxurious hotels on the lake for the experience and then book this one for the rest of your stay.
Highly recommended and will for sure book it again.

The owners and staff at this hotel are so incredibly friendly and helpful. The bungalow rooms are clean, spacious and very pleasant. There was nothing better than getting back from a hot day on the lack or trekking and just relaxing outside the bungalow in the really pleasant hotel garden or taking a dip in the pool. There are also really good breakfasts in the open air breakfast room (although wrap up warm if you're getting up early). The location of the hotel means its a bit of a walk to the centre of Nyaungshwe (which is not great if you're returning at night in the pitch darkness) but it also means its nice and quite. I stayed in more expensive hotels in Myanmar but none came anywhere close to this.

This was one of the best value places I have stayed in SE Asia, the owner and staff went out of their way to make my stay as pleasant as possible, they always had time to give you suggestions on what to do in and around town and help you with whatever you needed.

The rooms are big and clean, there's no air con but you don't need it as the town cools down overnight, the swimming pool is fantastic with the heat during the day. The staff also greeted me with a nice cool fresh juice whenever I would return from a bike ride during the day.

The owner has put together a guide with maps, recommended restaurants and sites around town. This was better than any guide book and I used this while I was in town and it was a fantastic guide.

I would stay at this place again and plan to return on my next trip here, I highly recommend it to anyone staying in Inle Lake.
