We spent 3 days in this new hotel in Bagan. It was relatively cheaper as compared to hotels in Yangon. It has a pool which was perfect because it was really hot when we visited Myanmar. They had a good enough breakfast spread in the hotel rooftop. Hopefully they build a proper restaurant. The rooms were spacious but you have to let the water run for awhile so the weird smell goes away.

It is strange that this is a new hotel (just recentely opened) and some things didnt operate well...like bath tub and some smaller things....but generally it was ok and the best was having very nice swimming pool to relax when temperature reaches 40C. The stuff is so so...their english is below average, not so helpful, dont receive credit card, some money exchange issues ect...the breKfast is nothing special as i saw someone wrote....but in generally was ok....

I have to say that we did check in in 4 am and sleeped even that night for free which is quite generous....

The best breakfast-buffet I had within 4 weeks Myanmar! Finally some cereals and yoghurt - very nice! The hotel is not the cheapest, but it offers this great breakfast and a nice pool - which is of very high value in the boiling heat of bagan... :-)
The staff was super friendly and always up for a chat - thumbs up!

There were only 3 things we disliked:
1. there was no possibility to fix a moscito-net on the ceiling, even though the air is full of those little monsters...

2. don't do the laundry there! this was like the most expensive laundry of my whole life: we paid 24 dollars for one full bag!!!! ok,we blame ourselves: we didn't ask in advance. but after having had 2 laundries in myanmar for around 5 dollars, we didn't expect a price that high...

3. they charged me 4 dollars for a little towel that was accidently coloured by me. Yet, it was my mistake - but from a hotel this (price-)class I would have expected to indulge...

bagan gets too hot during the day, so choose somewhere you will want to relax and come back to for 3-4 hours during the middle of the day (you will have still seen sunrise and sunset so don't worry that you are going loose time.

Zfreeti has a nice pool, ambience and lounging area.

The big plus for me was early check in off the night bus - we were allowed in our room at 6am, and the ability to extend for a very reasonable 2.5 USD an hour meaning that you can shower before leaving.

Bikes and e-bikes can be hired - but the e-bikes are exactly twice the price the of a shop 4 minutes walk.

Rooms were spotless, and very pleasant stay.

it is near the main pagoda area, but for sunrise you need to allow 20 minute journey time.

The hotel is inside Nyaung U. There is only a few minutes walk (along a dusty road) to the Restaurant Road. The road is dark at night and make sure you have a torch with you. Bicycles and e-bikes are available for rent. There is around 10-15 minutes walk to the bus station and Shwezigon Paya. There is no money exchange in the hotel but money exchange is available in AGD bank, which is very close to the hotel.

We woke up at 4am in Yangon and took a flight at 6am. We arrived Nyaung U before 9am and the room was ready. It was really great!

The hotel is new and the lobby is spacious. The swimming pool is great. During our stay, our room was tidy and clean. Comfortable bed. No deposit box or kettle in the room. The weather was very hot but the air-conditioner was not powerful enough. There was occasional sewage smell in our room at night. Wifi available in the room and the signal was ok. Don't expect very fast connection. Breakfast was ok. As mentioned by others before, housekeeping staff spray insect repellent in each room at 8-9pm. They didn't disturbed us if we placed the do not disturb sign on the door knob.

Staff are generally friendly and helpful. One of the staff arranged a taxi tour to old Bagan for us with a reasonable price.
