“Very good - Sorry about the spring rolls!”
Reviewed 26 September 2013

One of the relatively new hotels in Battambang. Well located with great decor, furnishings and the bed was very comfortable. Manager/owner was a nice friendly guy who made us feel welcome.
This is a festival time in Cambodia and the monks from the nearby Wat were chanting from very early in the morning - the sound was invasive. One should not be critical of local culture and we did not, however it did interrupt sleep.
The only real negative was the food - Well as we only stayed there one night we did not eat a meal but did order a snack delivered to the room - this consisted of french fries and three large kind of spring rolls - both components were dripping with grease and the rolls were dreadful - a culinary mistake - should not be repeated
Aside from that we were happy with our brief stay!

Room Tip: Dont order the spring rolls unless they've changed their presentation. Use the ear plugs when m...

An absolute gem of a hotel which is tucked down a side street. The whole place is lovely - from the large reception (with a little shop for trinkets) to an outdoor bar/eating area, restaurant and a welcoming pool with sun loungers, towels and straw hats. The gardens are immaculate and tropical and the rooms are fabulous - tastefully decorated with everything you could including a fresh fruit basket, TV, aircon, toiletries, hair dryer and the biggest shower I have ever seen - big enough to put a 5 person bench seat in there (for what reason I am not sure!). The beds were comfortable (twin singles) and we had a balcony overlooking the pool. It wasn't the quietest place with a bit of noise from nearby restaurants (maybe a karoke bar?) but earplugs were supplied albeit not used. The restaurant was wonderful with some excellent food and the cocktails were cheap and delicious. It was such a lovely place that after we arrived in the early afternoon we didn't even leave the hotel prefering to lounge around the pool, drink cocktails and have a wonderful feed in the restaurant. Battambang itself doesn't have too much to offer but an interesting place to wander around and enjoy for being so unspoilt even though it is Cambodia's second biggest city!

me and my husband arrived directly from Siem Reap with no reservation (we always prefere to check the place before); the hotel is far from main road, clean, and staff very very friendly. Has a pool and a nice bar were drink something, also a restaurant. No noises inside 'cause the room are not close to the bar. The room was nice with garden view, good bathroom with a very big shower. Breakfast fresh and good. I also went to a cooking class in the afternoon (propose form the hotel) in a family restaurant in the city and was wonderful. I went on my own (my husband hates cook) and when he did not see me come back (for a misunderstanding he expected it finished at 7pm instead 8pm) the staff help him: check the time with the restaurant and assure him I was safe!!!! Ah Ah Ah.....Bambu Hotel was nice and good special thanks to all the staff

It's been 18 months since I've been in Battambang and despite the town thankfully changing little Bambu has matured into a well oiled laid back hotel.
The restaurant was the only place in town my kids would eat and with a varied menu was great for me and my wife too.
Pat, the owner, gave good advice on day trips, the school they sponsor was by far the best day out.
Highly recommended.

Battambang is Cambodia's second largest city, laid back and with some interesting sites around. It is worth visiting on top of Phnom Penh and Siem Riep, as it is less of a tourist destination.
But apart from its faded French architecture and the temples around the city, to me Bambu hotel was a highlight of my stay. My room overlooked the street -not a great view- and I can say that it is one of the most comfortable and most beautifully decorated rooms where I have ever stayed. I can only describe its decor as the paramount of good taste. The same applies to the restaurant by the very inviting pool. Great service and good food. That kind of place where you feel you'd like to find some excuse to extend your stay.

We loved our stay at the Bambu Hotel! After several long days of touring the countryside and exploring Battambang, it was wonderful to have a little oasis to go back to and relax. The garden and pool area of the hotel are absolutely beautiful. We spent a wonderful morning swimming and lounging by the pool. Our room was spacious and clean, and I had the best shower I had in Cambodia at the Bambu Hotel (good water pressure is not always easy to find in Southeast Asia). The food was tasty, and the bar next to the pool was fun to hang out at. All of the staff and the owner were very attentive and helpful. They happily arranged a tuk tuk to take us out at night, and bus tickets to Siem Reap when we left. We would happily return here!

Really beautiful hotel: large comfortable rooms, hot water all day, power showers and fantastic pool. Good food and staff that bent over backwards to accommodate vegetarians - nothing was too great an ask. The owner was a mind of local imformation and has huge empathy for the city and its environs. Would definitely reccommend.
