If you are not going to Uyuni, this mini version is well worth a trip
We didn't take a tour just got the hotel to arrange a taxi for us, and went the morning of our last day in SPA.
You MUST take sun glasses. Even a couple of seconds without sunnies was unbearable.
This made it difficult to see LCD screens for trick photography attempts, but as I have noted above taking off sun protection to see better is not a good idea.
If you have a neutral density filter for your camera don't forget it if you are visiting in the daytime..I did and all my images are overexposed, I simply couldn't control the brightness even at the smallest aperture.
Hat sunscreen a must and plenty of water. Saw some people cycling there but it looked hot dusty and tiring..would make a long trip
Anyway quite a amazing place
