“Great fun, and beautiful scenery”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 May 2014

If you are not going to Uyuni, this mini version is well worth a trip

We didn't take a tour just got the hotel to arrange a taxi for us, and went the morning of our last day in SPA.

You MUST take sun glasses. Even a couple of seconds without sunnies was unbearable.

This made it difficult to see LCD screens for trick photography attempts, but as I have noted above taking off sun protection to see better is not a good idea.

If you have a neutral density filter for your camera don't forget it if you are visiting in the daytime..I did and all my images are overexposed, I simply couldn't control the brightness even at the smallest aperture.

Hat sunscreen a must and plenty of water. Saw some people cycling there but it looked hot dusty and tiring..would make a long trip

Anyway quite a amazing place

“Amazing salt laggon”

Amazing and surreal view of a salted laggon in the middle of the desert, great for watching the sunset and take cool pictures with the Andes as background.

“Awesome sunset”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 April 2014 via mobile

I liked it very much. Its not my # 1 in Atacama, but its great.

This visit is included in the the tour called "Laguna Cejar"

Its starts at 4 pm and ends at 8:30 pm. Its costs us$15 + us$8 for the tickets to the national parks.

The first spot you visit is Laguna Cejar where you go to swim. The water is very salty, more than in the Dead Sea. Because of this you float easily in the water. Very cool.

After that they take you to the Ojos de Atacama. 2 hig holes of 20 mts of diameter in the middle of the desert. If you have been in Mexico, they are open cenotes. You can swim there too.

At the end of the tour they get you to Laguna Tebinquinche.

This lagoon its half dry and you can walk over a thick crust of salt. Views are great. Colours are beatiful and the mirror effect its outstanding.

There you wait for sunset enjoying a simple cocktail with a fresh Pisco Sour.

I did it with Altiplano Aventura agency. The guide Arturo and his wife were great!!

If you dont take and agency and you rent a car you can do it by yourself.

“Beautiful!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 April 2014

This was the third stop on the Cejar Lagoon tour for us, and this was the highlight. Beautiful white salt flats allow for a stunning volcano sunset. Absolutely do this tour. Tip: This tour does not require heavy hiking shoes. Bring lots of water.

This was the 3rd stopn on a half day tour. Brilliantly gleaming white salt flats with a spectacular sunset.
