“Cozy boutique hotel in San Pedro de Atacama”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 June 2014

We stayed at this hotel for a weekend in June. The personnel is attentive, the hotel style is very cozy and the location is great.

Rooms are clean, and there is a great pool area and reading area.

One thing that needs improving, though, is the Wi-Fi service. The signal is really low in some of the rooms.

We stayed here for 4 nights as part of our honeymoon and were so pleased with our choice. As it is a small hotel, it has a really personal feel.

Rooms feel like individual lodges and fit in perfectly with the surroundings. They are beautifully decorated and spacious, clean and cosy, and showers are hot (whetever time of day!). Staff are really friendly and helpful too. The pisco sour welcome drink, the box of chocolates and picnic bags provided in your room are lovely additional touches too.

We also loved the communal sitting areas (indoors and outdoors) with fireplaces which gave us a nice heat on the cold winter evenings. Breakfast (when you have the chance to get it as most tours depart before 6am!) is ample and delicious - loved the quinoa biscuits and selection of breads in particular!

The hotel is ideally located (even better than most in top ten we noticed) in the centre of town - directly opposite is a brilliant and reliable tour agency we can recommend too "whipala".

Lovely!

My wife, daughter and I just stayed at the Hotel Terrantai in late May. The front desk staff were most friendly...Franklin and Chrisnina may hat goes off to the two of you. The breakfast is fantastic. The pisco sours at night by the fire were delicious. The location is central to all activities in San Pedro. This is not a backpackers hostel, but a beautiful little niche B&B with all the amenities.

The central location is superb, especially after long days exploring the region. Close to many excellent restaurants and the Plaza. Staff are all very friendly and abundantly helpful. Breakfasts are large and superb, with local ingredients. The internet works well in the library and open air lounge. The small pool is not for swimming but is fine for cooling off after day tripping to the innumerable scenic and historic wonders. The bedroom and bath were on the smaller side, but the public spaces gave us ample room. It can be noted that the many street dogs of San Pedro de Atacama bark and howl part of the night and can interrupt sleep until one gets used to their periodic activity. This is the case throughout the town.

It's comfortable, very clean and quiet place. The location is great also, walking distance from the main street where you can find many restaurants.
Breakfasts are awesome in this hotel, especially for the quinoa cookies... Loved it!
The only bad thing was that the rooms don't have A/C, but it wasn't a problem for us because in the night the temperature is nice, so you can sleep well.

My first day on the Terrantai I so the floor full of dust, black hairs, on floor, on bathroom, on shower, than I came to the bed and on the bedframe was a excrement of bird, a bird poop on the bed frame and nobody cleaned. Was disgusting. How a bird or a pigeon could enter on the room to do it? Noise and poor internet connection. THe people that stays at the reception at 4:00 am does not speak English. Did have any coffe or tea at 4:00 am to the Geiser Tour and I need to ask to them to put it. The pool was broken and a lot of noise of them repairing the pool. The water stops so many times that I could not take shower. The Staff in the office during the regular hours are nice. The breakfast too. But if you need any help out of the regular time , just forget. Small rooms. Small and dirty pool. Its my second time at Atacama and I decided to stay for a while in some nice hotel and lesson learned.. not always the beautiful things are the best choices.

Room Tip: You can find on other hotels the same comfort for low price, if you are not so into the Hotel becau...

4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 March 2014

W stayed here for 6 nights and 5 days in March 2014 and loved it. Nice little pool area for day off from the incessant day-tripping, and that area has to be little (4 lounge chairs) because of the downtown location. But the location is key. The hotel can only be compared to the really high-end spots like Explora or Alta, but they are way out of town. And a lot of the fun here is in the lovely village. Virtually all auto traffic is banned within about 8 square blocks or so, and the main plaza is auto-free and the very picture of calm. You want to be able to wander around these blocks morning and evening and just basically hang-out, and the Terrantai has the BEST location for this just a stroll away. No, actually, right in all of it. More pricey that the numerous hostels, but it ain't a hostel.

Quite elegant really. Nice design throughout. But, I'd suggest you get a bigger room than you might normally think. Some of the "interior" rooms with windows only on the (outdoor) corridors looked kinda small and dark to me. We had what they said was their largest room---#11, which opened onto the interior garden and had a double bed and 2 twins. Airy and comfy. Other rooms opened onto this garden area, and I'd definitely shoot for one of them.

Super convenient. Quiet. Elegant. Friendly. All good here.

Room Tip: Get one of rooms which windows and sliding glass doors onto the interior garden area.
