I stayed at vida 2000 for a week, and I really enjoyed my stay there! The rooms were very cozy and clean, the service was spectacular and breakfast was delicious every morning. This is a really wonderful hotel!

We stayed at Hostal Vida2000 for two nights, with the intention of wine tasting in the region without the expense and limitations of a formal tour.

Gabrielle very kindly picked us up from the bus terminal in Santa Cruz at no extra cost. He then provided us with a comprehensive listing of wineries and attractions the area had to offer. Making the relevant reservations on our request. He then drove us to and picked us up from several wineries in the area, again at no extra cost.

This service made our tours of the wineries much cheaper and more relaxed than if we had booked them through a tour agency (although note it is impossible to taste at many wineries without taking the tour of the winery often at considerable expense (US $40.00 pp).

The hostal itself has an intimate family atmosphere - we met most of Gabrielle's family upon arrival. As such it felt more like a home stay than a B&B or Hostal. Gabrielle is a very friendly host, eager to please and speaks functional English which was very helpful in making reservations as our Spanish is poor. We also left some shoes in the room, and he very kindly sent them via bus to our next destination.

In summary, the high level of service was the best part of our stay. In the absence of the personalised service (e.g. driving around the wineries), the cost of the room itself ($70) would have been overpriced. Hostal Vida may not be suitable for travellers that prefer a higher level of privacy. The beds are comfortable and a basic breakfast is included.

The hostel has a beautiful garden in the back, clean and tidy rooms, and an extremely friendly staff. The rooms are cozy and some are very unique (there´s a pyramid room!).

When we first got here, the hot water in the shower wasn´t working but they fixed it quickly. The hotel staff was very accomodating to our needs and requests. It´s a ten minute walk from the town square, so very central.

This hostal is so homey. The owner and her sons take care of every person as if they were family. From breakfast to internet to heaters in every room, I felt very comfortable here. If I am ever in Santa Cruz again I will definitely stay here. Say hello to the dog Fiona as well! She will adopt you just like the owners.
