This hotel accepts foreigners and is clean and comfortable. It is a typical Chinese hotel, grand foyer and white grand pano, but the staff have limited english. The rooms are quite comfortable and the bathroom is clean and has a potable water dispenser.
Breakfast is not very good, but there are always eggs!

We found the hotel was comfortable and clean, although the rooms were on the small side. The beds were the same hard beds that you mostly expect in China. The breakfast was typically Chinese. We arrived at the restaurant around 8 am and found many of the dishes were nearly empty. We had to request the staff to refill some of the dishes for us. The previous evening we arrived at the restaurant about 8.30 and ordered hamburgers, something different to rice for a change. We waited for ages only to be told that the restaurant had closed and only fried rice was available. We were very surprised that a hotel restaurant would close so early.

The hotel provides clean and comfortable accommodation rooms with free wifi in the lobby. Typically for hotels along the Silk Road, the beds are very firm. However the traffic noise is barely perceptible. Breakfasts had a limited selection of western foods, although the omelettes and bacon were excellent.

Your options in Jiayuguan are limited so even though this hotel is sub par, there are not many other options. Very few of the staff speak english, the rooms are sparse, the beds literally as hard as rock and the bathrooms are a bit grubby and smell funny. The breakfast is entirely chinese and not great. The wall and the fort at Jiayuguan are definitely worth a visit, but pre are yourself for an underwhelming stay,

Room Tip: i am not sure there are good ones

Mining is the primary purpose of Jiayuguan today so I believe this hotel was geared towards business travelers. As a tourist, you're probably here to see the Jiayuguan fortress and the western terminus of the Great Wall. If so, this hotel is more than ample accomodation, very clean and is flowing with marble and decorative artwork. Rate is a little spendy, but worth it unless you're a hardcore backpacker. Westerners, esp women, will get curious but benign stares from the locals. The breakfast buffet is decidely Chinese but gives a good taste of the local cuisine, such as several types of steamed buns, and is also convenient, hot and fresh. The rooms are ample and come with an internet-accessible computer(but there is no in-room wifi for handheld devices). Some English-speaking tv channels, good air conditioning, very helpful staff(by Chinese standards) and excellent housekeeping. Most of the markets and action are down the street to the east, but there is a local market one block to the west. Giant, walk-in shower in the room we had, was pretty awesome, but is frosted-glass facing the room, kinda kinky. Only drawback is rock-hard beds, but I think this is a Chinese preference. Oh yeah, got a knock on the door around 9 pm from a young lady offering a "massage" -- again, this hotel is geared towards businessmen. Jiayuguan fortress and Overhanging Wall are just a few miles away, hire a taxi for the day(~250-400 RMB). If you try to use a credit card to pay for the room, you must know the PIN number(not uncommon in China). Hope you like beer, wine is only sold by the bottle and is kinda expensive here and not that good.

Room Tip: South rooms have snow-capped peaks view!

This hotel offers reasonable Western food, the staff speak English in the restaurant and at reception. Clean, comfortable rooms with internet and good laundry service. TV with 2 movie channels in English as well as CCTV9 which is the English news channel. Other hotels only have CCTV9 and staff with minimal English language skills. One rare treat is that you are not troubled by telephone or door knocking for "massage services."

The benefits of this hotel are that it is close to JISCO and has an English food menu. The cons far out weigh the pros. They have had jack hammering and construction at all hours. There is often no toilet paper or running water, so bring your own. With all of the Chinese attending the breakfast buffet, it reminds of seeing hundreds of vultures swam on one dead cattle.
