A fascinating hotel and restaurant. A bit off from the main roads, silent and private. The inside is like a dream - more a private monastery than a hotel, but with all the amenities. Staff speak good English. The food at the restaurant was the best I got in China during all my stay.
Secret Garden Boutique Hotel is nestled in a quiet village, 5 minutes walk to Yulong He river in the beautiful rural Yangshou area and only 90 minutes taxi ride from Guilin North Station.
Take bamboo raft on the Yulong river or bicycle ride over to Baisha. English and Chinese is spoken and the comprehensive menu suits both local and international flavours (good kids’ menu with pancakes, spaghetti, pizza, toast etc.) Secret Garden Boutique Hotel was recommended to me by a friend who had stayed twice already and considered this place a gem; I’m inclined to agree! We stayed 5 very pleasant nights, rooms good size, impressive traditional courtyard layout; good impressions & photos.
We had a stopover at this beautiful charming hotel and restaurant while cruising the area with our rented tuktuk. We had lunch and were in awe of the beautiful old style buildings and cosy courtyards. The food and service was great.

An absolute gem of a spot - what a treat to find this charming hotel to rest our tired bodies after fabulous cycling trip with Bike Asia and Bikeaways in the Yulong River valley. The staff were incredibly friendly, food amazing and the bedroom was really comfortable - absolutely no need for the spare pillow cases I had brought from home !!! We hope to go back there someday ....

We had two suites at The Secret Garden in September, as we stepped into the hotel grounds we were met with a very warm welcome from the staff who spoke very good English. The hotel consists of various buildings which have been renovated beautifully in order to keep their historic character. As we entered our suite we had a lounge area with mini bar, etc, large bedroom area with hard but comfortable bed, and a further area which had separate toilet and shower rooms. Bedroom has ac unit and bathroom area had a free standing ac unit. Breakfast was excellent with a good choice available. Staff were very helpful, we all really enjoyed our stay at The Secret Garden which is in a beautiful location not far from the Yulong River.
